Breathed life into Indiana?  A team with 5 national championships?  A program that even Mike Davis took to a title game?  A blueblood program in a state that produces 10 D1 players every year?  They lost a lot of talent when Sampson left, but they were always going to come back.

Sure he won the Big Ten regular season and made a Sweet 16, but he did it with 2 lottery picks, 2 seniors that had been 4* recruits, and a 5* freshman.  This year he took a team with a 5* sophomore, a lottery pick freshman, 2 other 4* freshmen, and 2 other 4* sophomores and didn't make the NIT.

He's a mediocre coach who took a smart gamble on Dwyane Wade and has done basically nothing else.

Indiana's last national title - 1987!!!
Who recruited Oladipo and Zeller, not to mention Jordan Hulls, Watford, Sheehy, Ferrell, etc. all to IU?!??!
How many walk-ons did he start with his first year at IU?

I don't like the guy either, but get back in Realville.

There's no doubt Crean is a pretty good recruiter, but again, recruiting to Indiana isn't a big challenge. Rivals history only goes back to 2002, but between then and 2006 Mike Davis got 3 5* and 6 4* guys to go to IU.

When Crean is coaching at Oregon State or something in 3 years, we'll see how everyone feels about him.  That team was an absolute mess last year and they lost a lottery pick and 2 1100 pt scorers.  They'll be bad again this year and Crean's seat will be on fire.

Bad again this year?  Is this like your post and others about Bo Ryan in January wondering if he was washed up and the team in total disrepair because you lost five of six games?   You and your ilk were the ones saying MU would finish at the bottom of the Big East when we joined back in the mid 2000's.  Problem with you guys is that when you aren't crossing swords with your cocktail wieners,

you can't let the emotion get out of the way.  Unfortunately we have a lot of fans here who do the same about UW-madison.  Some of us here said UW-madison was really good this last year and could be Final Four bound, for which we are attacked as Badger lovers.  Emotion and sports, not a good thing...that goes for your side as well.

I think I'm gonna need to see a quote where I said that Bo Ryan was washed up.  I don't recall having an opinion one way or another on Marquette's future in the Big East when they joined.

It's not emotion with Tom Crean.  What emotion?  Wisconsin owns Tom Crean.  I disliked Buzz too but I'll readily admit he's a good coach.  Hated Bob Knight, but he was a good coach.  Despise Calipari, but defend him to people who say he's a ball-roller.

And, by the way, it's not like I was on the ESPN panel that came up with the list.

This seems unnecessary.

Would you post the same type of tripe had a white journalist written it and called it WAMM?

Why not?  If an author - black, white, latino, asian, etc. - self titles his editorial page "[Insert Race] Angry [Insert Name]" it most certainly provides insight to the writer's intent and perspective.

Of course, unless you meant that it was unnecessary to the extent that you imply that one should prejudge Myron Medcalf as "Angry Black," in which case, your comment is unnecessary.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

and predictably there will be no response from Chicos
