The Process

Looks like Wojo made quite the impression on Rodney Hood while he was at Duke:

QuoteAlso factoring into Hood's improvement as a player was the demanding nature of the Duke coaching staff. Hood specifically cited former Duke assistant coach and new Marquette head coach Steve Wojciechowski as a major factor in his development.

"Coach Wojo is my guy. He coaches like he used to play back in the day. Fiery, passionate and whoever gets a chance to play for him at Marquette is going to have a great time because he loves the game and he knows the game," Hood said.

After transferring into the program, Hood recalled when Wojo went off on him in a workout for going at his own pace. The experience helped show Hood how to handle things when going through practice.

"I had my first encounter [with Wojciechowski] the year I was sitting out," Hood said. "The first workout when we had a game — the first game — and I came out there and I was shooting shots and kind of at my own pace and he slammed the ball down and went, 'Hood! What the blank are you doing?' and just went off and we've had a great relationship ever since then."

As much as I enjoyed The Ballroom Dancer over the past few years, I am excited to see what Wojo does with the team in the fall.
Relax. Respect the Process.

Encouraging preview of what to expect from Wojo, thanks for posting.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Encouraging? Frankly, I am disturbed to read this quote,

Quote'Hood! What the blank are you doing?' and just went off

I am flabbergasted that Wojciechowski felt it necessary or appropriate to belittle Mr. Hood in such a cruel manner. Will we one day be reading that the Marquette coach has mocked a player for having soiled himself with his own filth? Let's hope we have not hired the wrong sort to lead our beloved Warriors.

Whether I like it or not most coaches swear. Saying what the hell are you doing is not the same as belittling a player.

I believe you have missed some dripping sarcasm from Senor Keefe.

The image of fighter pilot as foul mouthed, whisky swilling, cigar chomping, skirt chasing cad is fiction. Some of us rarely smoke.

I'd bet a mortgage payment on you rarely chasing skirt, either.

My wife always reminded me that Lorena Bobbitt's error was in not disposing of the offending member more effectively
