Player Mt Rushmore-
Butch, Wade, Dean the Dream (don't believe I've seen him yet), and Brute Force Thompson.

Non-ballers included-
Swap Al for Meminger.

Doc's MU career is overrated.  He would be way down on my list.  The team accomplished little when he was there.  I think their lone NCAA win was against Evansville in '82.  He was a big time recruit, maybe still our most heralded incoming recruit ever, but the fact is, he was an above average player at MU, nothing great.  The NBA didn't think that highly of him either when he turned pro, believe Atlanta snagged him in the 2nd round.

If you include time after MU, then yes, he would be right up there.  He's accomplished a lot, especially coaching.  But his MU playing days are so long ago some have fuzzy memories now.  Again, he was very good, but not an all-time MU great by any stretch.

If 22 is Jim Chones and not Jerel I'm 100% with you Doc.

Mo, Dream, Butch and Wade.

Add Chones to that team and it might go undefeated.

Mo Acker gets in there for ya, hey?  Do they put his head at the bottom of the mountain because he was so short?

(I hope teal is not necessary...)

This would be my four but it is damn hard to not include Chones, the Destroyer, or Bo. Everybody thinks of Wade as the greatest warrior but they never knew the Dream. Simply the best to ever play for MU.

Bo over Lucas for 2 FFs and the championship
Chones out for leaving early.  Great player, respect the decision, best for him, but not best for Marquette so he is out.
If based on MU career and 10 players allowed, Doc Rivers still doesn't make it.  Besides, the 6 players mentioned above, I'd put at least Thompson, Kojis, McNeal, Miller, Matthews, Key, Smith and Butler ahead of him for their MU accomplishments.

I don't understand how George Thompson is not an automatic.  He should be as much as Wade.  All-time leading scorer for three decades (without a three point shot and three years on varsity), McGuire's first superstar player, and the guy that was the star when MU took off nationally under McGuire and stayed there until 1977.  Respect what Ellis, Lucas, and others did at MU, but when you're talking MU greats and the legacy they left the school with, it starts with Wade and Thompson, period.

Dwyane Wade, Bo Ellis, Dean Meminger, and Brute Force (who might have been the most important recruit in #MUBB history -- and what a career he had)

Not in the middle of a season.

Not really fair to have only four
There are four of 44 presidents on Rushmore

Using that ratio, there should be at least 10 carved into a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan

Kojis, Meminger, Thompson, Lucas, Lee, Ellis, Rivers, Wade, Tatum, and Al

Pick your Marquette Mt. Rushmore

I got DAWYANE Wade, Wesley Matthews, Steve Novak and Jerel Mcneal.

Who's yours?

Guessing you were born in the early 90s

The Marquette Mt Rushmore should have:

Ignatius Loyola, Jacques Marquette, Robert Bellarmine, and Karl Rahner

Yes sir!!!

Except I'd swap Pedro Arrupe or Pope Frank for Bellarmine but you are close  ;)

Good point. Still wouldn't preclude me from picking Chones. I just like my four better!
