Thanks for providing that handy-dandy list, TAMU.

I like Horford because at least I've seen him -- and he has the size we desperately need -- but it would be difficult to pass on a player named Nimrod!!

Horford is nothing great, but he would give us more next year than Satchel.

Looks like we are in the Matt Carlino derby as he is considering us per ESPN's Jeff Goodman.  It has us listed along with Purdue, St. Joes, Providence and Memphis.

FYI, when you click on the link, it is a very extensive transfer list.

Nothing like a Matt Carlino shooting 38.5% from the field.  Throw him and Derrick Wilson at the guard spots and we'll never score.   I can see the name in lights right now..    Clank-ino.

It's sad when we're going for a SG and have more immediate needs up front.  Apparently, John Dawson isn't ready to backup Mayo.

Wow, guy lists MU on an ESPN post and two sentences later you have Duane Wilson as a bust even though he has yet to log a minute for MU.

Also, you're right he is not ready to backup Mayo.  Duane is a PG and Mayo is a SG.

Dumb dumb post

I replaced Duane Wilson with John Dawson.  My bad!  Nonetheless, I didn't throw anyone under the bus.  It only makes sense that if we're looking for a SG, that Dawson isn't ready to take the reigns.  How is that throwing someone under the bus?

You may have noticed that Matt Carlino averaged 4.3 apg last season. He's a PG not a SG. And he shot 33.9% from 3. He would be a definite improvement over Derrick.

Getting Carlino may not be necessary, if Duane Wilson or John Dawson is ready to light the world on fire, then I'm game. But I can think of a lot worse things than picking up a trigger happy PG with "high" major experience who also plays pretty stellar d.

It's hard to tell how good Nimrod is. Lamar is a pretty terrible team. It's like a 6 looking like a 10 because she is surrounded by 2s. A crude be effective comparison.

But if we wanted Nimrod, he is originally from Madison. Maybe he wants to come home.

COME HOME NIMROD!!!

Because the pool is pretty shallow this year. You either have to take a star from a bad team and hope it translates to the BEast, or take a scrub from a good team and hope his coach was holding him back.

MJ Rhett with over 9 rpg.  Wow, that would be nice to get next year with Fischer out until 2nd Semester, but it looks like he's only considering Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Tulane, USC, Miami, and UConn.

Dawson is a PG too, not a SG.

Mayo backup at SG will be JJJ

I guess if JJJ, Taylor and/or Dawson had decided to transfer and were put on a list like this, folks from other parts of the country who didn't know anything about us would wonder about all those Marquette guys with 1's and 0's in their averages.

Wesley averaged almost 20 for a Pac-12 team, granted it was a bad team, but it wasn't against bad competition.  He was suspended at the end of the year though, so that is a bit concerning.

I remembered Ian Chiles from IUPUI filling it up, but he averaged only 1.5 assists last year, not what we need.

moomoo

Have any shown even a remote interest in Marquette?
Silenzio. Parla il moomoo.

Earl Tatum

Horford and Kyle Davis would help the front line with size. Davis' rebounding stats are good. But don't
know much about him. Still need a shooting guard. But JJJ is my man.

Dawson Rental

Let's go for the big kid from San Diego State.  We can sell him on Wisconsin women.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

True, but this list is of matriculated student athletes that are presumably juniors with one year of eligibility left, not freshmen or sophomores riding the pine because their coach is missing the 7 of clubs and the Jack of spades.

Texas Western

We need to focus on big men and guys who are compatible with the team.

because it is not their grade point average.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

OP updated. With Byron Wesley's announcement, he becomes the most desirable transfer on the market. Kid can flat out score.

MJ Rhett will be taking his rebounding prowess to Ole Miss. Definitely could have used his size and skill set.

Austin Etherington is heading to Butler. Let's hope for the Bulldogs sake that Tan Tommy was just failing to utilize him properly.
