Both are going to have to step up their games, as the format, i.e. free flowing, up-and-down games, does not really play to either's strengths.

Are the rumors true that Davante has gained 20 lbs since the season ended?  I wouldn't mind watching him play with David Stockton.  That's a person who can actually make Gardner better in the post.

None are projected 2nd round picks.

Not that I'm surprised based on their play this year and their weaknesses which continued to be exposed, but I guess it's fitting that Buzz leaves MU with no true possible NBA-bound player.

EDIT: I noticed Maymon may not have received an invite. Somehow, I feel he'll get one.

Why? Is Tim already yelling at the coaches to put his boy on the team?

Hope DG shows out. He's only 15 minutes from hometown, so the crowd will be supportive.

Davante has zero chance to play in the NBA. Jamil perhaps 5%. Neither will be drafted. Vander was a better prospect than either and didn't get picked in what was considered a poor draft.

I wish the best for them, though. Portsmouth can help them get jobs overseas, too.

I would disagree if Gardner can adjust to the speed of the NBA quickly. I recently saw an interview of Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr., and he stated that the speed of the game was the most humbling aspect of the NBA. Gardner has the offensive skill and he will slim down.

Slimming down won't significantly change his athletic ability. He slimmed down significantly at MU and didn't turn into a significantly better athlete.

I respect your right to disagree, but I confidently stick by my zero-chance prediction.

No athleticism. No speed. No jumping ability. Horrid defender. Poor rebounder.

He could overpower skinny college guys. In the NBA, he would eat just about every shot he managed to take.

In order to play in the NBA Davante will have to convert his style of play to something like Wes Unseld. I just don't know if he has the personality to make that kind of radical change in his game.

Please. Wes Unseld was one of the greatest rebounders in history. He also was a defensive beast with an almost legendary work ethic.

And despite his size, Wes was pretty athletic.

Could have sworn I saw Ox on campus yesterday when I was in the spirit shop.  He looked the same to me.
