1990-UNLV? or 2014-UCONN?

Debate

wadesworld

What is there to debate? UCONN is not in a power conference and just won a National Title tonight, so I'm going to go ahead and say UCONN in 2014 is more recent than UNLV in 1990. So pretty simply, UCONN is the last team to win a National Title from a Non-Power 5 Conference. Not much to debate. Unless you're saying we could argue the AAC is a Power 5 conference? Guess I don't get it.

He's asking who the better team is between the 2 non power conferences.

Yes, sir. I believe the AAC IS a power 5 conference. Unfortunately, the NBE is not.

What's the point of debating? Why does it matter which team is better?

UNLV in a blowout.  They were a more seasoned team than Kentucky and Larry Johnson was better than Julius Randle which would have caused more problems down low for UCONN.  Greg Anthony would have solidified the PG position.

Hah. What has Cinci done in the NCAA Tourney since Huggy left? What has Memphis done in the NCAA Tourney that hasn't been wiped from the history books since Cal was there? Louisville is gone. UCONN has the most rich recent (this generation) history of anyone between the AAC and BE, but let's see what Ollie does with players he had to recruit. Even if they continue on their current path, I'll take our 10 over their 1 outstanding, 2 underachieving, and however many are left DePauls (actually, even worse).

A10 is better. MWC is better.

The REAL question is what did we (the new big east) do in tournament in comparison to the AAC. Not even close man.

How is the AAC a power 5 conference....what exactly is that anyway?

Wouldn't the AAC be the SIXTH power conference, or are you tossing out one of the ACC, Big 12, B1G, Pac 12 or SEC?
