If Marquette wins another National Championship do you think they would keep the "Al" on the jersey? Had he not won an NC, he wouldn't be so revered in the MU community, so once we reach the pinnacle again, don't you think the "Al" will have reached its shelf life?

If you think the only thing that Al did was win a NC, you must be young.  ;D

I think the old court design was hideous. Talk about out dated.

I'm not much of a fan of the Gold trim around the side and baseline, but still a major improvement.

I think that improvements could be made to the floor.

Nothing that the previous floor had would be an improvement.

How about this idea? Entire sidelines/baselines painted like the trim on our jerseys - all the stripes.

I can't believe anyone is suggesting taking Al off the jerseys.

It's been over 10 years since he passed. He has his name on the court. Time to move on.

The spelling of "AL" on the front side of the jersey is very unique and cool. The image of Al on the back looks terrible. It is out of context and looks ridiculous. Hey, buddy...are you feeling down, huuhhh? You want a hug?

He was a great coach, and a hell of a personality.  One of, if not the best, color guys in College Basketball History.

and he was ours.

It's not as though Al would soon be forgotten if his initials were removed from the jersey. Personally, I'm in favor of them, but the design on the back of the jersey is brutal.

Frankly, I think MU's branding as a whole is sub-par. The original golden eagle caricature was rough but acceptable, the chicken is awful, and the 'MU' is okay.

It's a tired argument (and one that I do not wish to reignite) but the Warrior logo takes the cake, and it's not close.

Cool in theory.  Would like to see it before making that decision.  Also wouldn't mind some changes to the uniforms.  I was a big fan of Deleware's uniforms this year.

I just wish the sideline went back to saying "We are Marquette" instead of gomarquette.com

I'm good with our court and AL.  A few tweaks to the unis would be ok though.

I'd like to see them tweak the current unis to have camo side panels instead of the stripes, kind of like the early 80's Doc Rivers era.

I like the camo trim, except the camo trend is already treading toward expiration. Getting played out right now. This past season would have been perfect.

as long as we don't copy Oregon and that vomit floor...

Frankly, the Oregon program has many fine attributes worth emulation.

That picture of Al captures thirteen years of his greatness. Location where picture was taken only makes it better. That is one every fan regardless of age should understand how that picture represented a generation of program's history likely to never been seen again.

That will never be replicated. Reflecting on Al and how he lived his influence extended far beyond the Marquette community. He helped set the concrete of social progress during a time of tremendous national instability and questioning. Al's actions spoke volumes - he did what was right, not because there was any benefit for him, but, rather, because it was the correct course of action. He will never be forgotten.

By the way, if you pass through Lan Kwai Fong have the ossobuco and some grappas at Va Bene and give my regards to Pino.

No doubt on the social issues of the times. He knew more about people and how to get most out of them than anybody I knew. Street smart Phd and used it everyday. Still remember when the guys were boycotting playing and Al explaining to them how to better get their point across. Would be hard pressed to find player of Al's that did not learn more than they earned playing ball. Many thought of Al as former Packers thougt of Lombardi.

Unfortunately no time in LKF as I am 1500 miles to the north. A grappa or two at Va Bene would be very welcome today though.

Gimme a Marquette broad with a taste for Schlitz and Bratwurst any day of the week. Oregon can keep their beauties, I want em strong and tough and able to stay with me drink for drink.

If we're in retro mode, why not the Robert Indiana Mecca bball floor with the Warrior hint?

(To refresh your memory, Google "robert indiana basketball floor")

I don't think a Black jersey would be a bad idea.  Have the tri-colored trim on the outside and Yellow Lettering or something.

I'm from a younger generation and am sure 85% of this board hates the highlighter colors.

How about a blue court, Boise St style?
