I love how Steve and Juan just clap on cue. Whether they understand the reference to Polish food or not.

Homer - Great question on why didn't you leave for other jobs?  I like Wojo's answer !!!  He's a loyal guy and it felt right.  He wants to be here!

Avenue Commons

I'll give $1000 to any reporter that asks Mayo "what's so funny?" He's like a little kid giggling in the back pew at Mass.

I'm not crazy about the hire, but I think he's done great in this presser and its easy to be genuinely happy for him.

Yeah I agree

MUCam

Are they standing on hot coals, and is Mayo barefoot?

I like the guy, he seems genuine, family guy, I believe him when he talks. Comes from a great program where that's what he knows. MU's giving him tools to go out and be successful.

Maybe I'm drinking the kool aid too much right now, but I'm pumped for the Wojo era.

I want someone to ask "Do you see this as a stepping stone job?" or "Do you think you'll return to Duke if offered the job when Coach K leaves?"

FUN FACT: This marks only the third press conference since March of 2012 where an MU head coach did not use the words "butcher" or "candlestick".

CreightonWarrior

Wojo sounds like Woody Harrelson's character in True Detective

NCMUFan

I hope the players give him a chance.  I kind of think Brent F'ed them a lot harder than he did us.

Tugg Speedman

Will Cords answer questions?  Now that will be interesting!

Wojo has won me over in this presser. I find him very sincere, bright, and credible. I'm appreciative of his clear devotion to his family.

He also clearly has picked up some Coach K mannerisms and intonation. He hopefully has picked up some of the coaching success of Coach K as well.

Keeps his dad's hardhat.  Love it!  You can't write this stuff.

Answering now...and doing it quite well.

+1 totally agree
No Finish Line

Avenue Commons

Holy wow. 44 minute mark. Wojo jokes about being a coach he hopes isn't "run out of town."

STJ and Mayo immediately shoot each other a sideways glance.

Agreed. Very professional and well-spoken; he has won me over too. The only thing left for him to do is peel back the face.

Be interesting to see if he has Coach K's f bomb demeanor on the sidelines too.

He fielded that question perfectly.

Say what you will about the guy, but his eye contact is exceptional.
