I like how K told him, "You'll get better Polish sausage there than you'll ever get in Durham, North Carolina."

Sure he wasnt just talking about the close proximity to chicago?  ;D

Yes, he sounds really good.  I had questions about Buzz from the moment he said he would be here as long as we had him.  There's no phoniness to Wojo in this conference.  Not getting the sense he is anything other than what he is representing him to be.

I always thought as Wojo as a kid.  Have a different perspective of him after this.  I'm rooting for him to do well without any reservations.  As others have said, he comes off as professional and after watching him play and coach, I know the intensity is there.

Big fan right now.  Willing to back him even if he loses some players and recruits as that is part of the process.

One of my sons is a talented kid and I sometimes think of which coach I would like to play for.  I always had doubts about Buzz.  Based on one press conference, I could see him playing for Wojo.  I guess I am drinking the Kool-Aid.  Not my typical approach.

He essentially said "look, I've had offers in the past.  I finally came to MU for a reason.  I've spent 15 years at Duke.  I'm a loyal guy."

Wojo wasn't my first or even second pick, but even I recognize the importance of what he's saying -- and more importantly what he's done.  Actions speak louder than words.  I'm just glad Wojo didn't say "I'll stay as long as MU will have me."

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Here is hoping that Wojo can pass Buzz as the best coach at MU since Al.

You could call Chicago to Milwaukee the Polish sausage corridor.

Best part of the presser to me was when he talked about his parents. I like that he comes from a working class family. Given his background and the type of player he was, there is no question the guy is a fiery competitor and no stranger to working his tail off. I'm excited about what he brings to the table.

And I cannot recall Bazz ever talking about his parents.  It was always about Bazz and his odd journey.....

He didn't have parents, he was spawned in a garbage can (even looks like a garbage pail kid).  Little chew spit, little sweet tea, some basketball sweat.....ta da!

Blasphemy! He can't hold a candle to gomarquette.com's Patrick Reid!

What class is he in HS and why aren't you on the phone with Wojo already??

Man, everyone here sure changed quickly. Just two weeks ago we all loved Buzz' "genuine-ness" and "honesty" and "story". Now, he's just some backroom bum that never did nuttin around here.   Please.

Didn't see the presser, but sounds/reads like he said the right things which is nice. Will try and find it online.

I have to say I noticed this as well.  Come on people, don't sell him out now because he left. I loved his schtick then and I'd love it now (if he still here).  His tourney PC's were some of the greatest PC's I've ever seen, and I'll always appreciate what he accomplshed at MU.  He brought some memorable players to Milwaukee too. Some that we probably otherwise wouldn't have seen wear the Marquette uni; Butler, Crowder, DJO, Ox, etc.  I'll always appreciate what he did

Don't say "we all." Not accurate.

I always liked Buzz because of all those Ws and Buzz's Bunch.  But I never had any idea what point he was trying to make whenever I heard him talk.  It's like each sentence would start with one thought and his mind was working so fast that he'd veer off to another thought in the same sentence without completing the first thought.

Buzz' facade crumbled this year. His genius was proved to be a fluke.

I always thought Buzz acted like a complete MORON on the sideline. Sometimes it was embarassing to be a fan of MU and watching the guy going wild. His press conferences were idiotic.

I still admire and respect everything Buzz did for the basketball program at MU.  IMO, the most creative coach, and statistically, the best coach at MU since Al.   This last year was frustrating, to be sure, but the previous 5 were a blast.    One day, I hope an independent source pens the story of the break up.  I would love to get a clear, unbiased, complete account.   I am skeptical it will happen, but one can hope.
