This might be a silly question, but does the injury/medical red shirt for Mbakwe change the way scholarships are giving out in future classes?

Only thing it changes is his schoalrship is not available for someone else for 5 years instead of 4.  You can have 13 (think) players on scholarship at any point in time so his redshirt has no effect on how many scholarships are avaialble the next 4 years.

Exatly - we have one less scholarship to give in 2011-2012 because Mbakwe will be using it.  But other than that, no effect.
