Building pipelines there, recruiting has been good considering he's at a mid major.

This kid has the bloodlines and has more recent success than Cuonzo.

Why on God's green earth are we mentioning Cuonzo over Archie?

TAMU, Knower of Ball

How do you know Archie wants to come here? He just accepted an extension.

Also, coaching at Dayton and coaching at a post scandal Tennessee are two different things.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Blackhat

He's just sent Dayton on a historic run.    Archie needs no excuses.

Many coaches sign extensions before leaving.  What's he going to say no?

Bloodlines are hugely important when it comes to coaching college basketball.
Just ask Pat Knight, Keno Davis and Murray Bartow.

Lets see. We have Miller, Bennett, Howland, Hopkins, Wardle, Manning, Stephens, Martin....etc.
Who the hell is on first? Larry, Moe, Curly or Shemp?

If by "we" mentioning Cuonzo over Archie, you are correct. If by "we" you mean Marquette University, you are not correct.

Assuming Florida beats Dayton tonight (safe bet), let's revisit this issue after UD is done.

Note: 100% my own personal speculation.
We Are Marquette

Blackhat

Tony Bennett, Steve Alford, etc.  had fathers that were good coaches.

Seeing as Archie's already had more success than the guys you mentioned, he seems to be in the positive category.

That makes sense--we need Allie McGuire in the mix.

Nobody wants to come here, that is why we have to pay so much.

Finally someone who gets it. Milwaukee is a small market city. We play in an outdated hockey
arena, and the Bucks are barely an NBA team. The Wisconsin talent pool is not that deep. Not sure why everyone thinks the Marquette job is so
attractive? Lots of homers drinking up the blue and gold Kool-aid. I love Marquette as much as anyone, but lets
be realistic. We are a mid-major. I doubt Shaka would have even talked to us if it were not for Doc.

Let's see: They flock to Lawrence, Durham, Syracuse, Norman, etc. Been to Richmond many times--it holds nothing over Milwaukee.

Stfu with that mid-major crap. That is what pisses me off more then anything is when people claim MU is a mid major. To think that was is absolutely ridiculous. God damn it you people are such god damn naysayers its not even fun to be associated with any MU fans who arent students.

If you want to make a case for Archie Miller, have at it.
If you want to make a case for Archie Miller based on breeding and the fact he recruits Chicago - like every other single coach in the Midwest and beyond - then your case sucks.

In the meantime, while giving Dayton credit for a great run, let's nor forget they - like Tennessee - were one of the last teams to get into the tourney, and are a year removed from a season in which they couldn't even qualify for the A-10 tournament.

So youre telling me you would rather have the likes of SLU, Dayton and VCU over Georgetown, Nova and Marquette? Ok... May be one of the most ignorant statements ive heard.

Why is this even a thread? MU reached out to Miller, not only did he say no, he didn't listen to MU's pitch for a minute.

Come on guys.

Thank you. What a pointless thread. Archie Miller hits a lot of things hard if the crowd shots are any indication.

Hey Willie Warrior-Good one. Curly Joe is the coach.

Actually had some decent points until the end. MU is far from a mid-major currently. Let's hope it stays that way.

I grow weary of your idiotic comments.  By college standards,  the BMO BC is awesome.  And our practice facilities and commitment to basketball is top notch. Just go away fool.

Jeff Goodman.

It's pretty simple to do.

MU to Miller's reps: "Would Archie have interest in MU?"
Rep: "No thank you".
MU: "Could we talk to him direct at appropriate time?"
Rep: "Not interested".

Come on guys, let's act like a big boy fanbase already.

Blackhat

Common sense would be u don't reach out to a coach when he's still playing....seems they waited with shaka.  Be a good way to piss a coach off.
