Hey guys, long time lurker of this board who just wants to put in his 2 cents.  As many of you have pointed out already, I think the silence Tuesday and today speak more volumes than the Twitter and media reports stating Shaka was a "done deal" on Monday. Coupled with announcing a new president at the same time, it just makes me think Shaka is still in play. No statements from Shaka either, unequivocally saying he's staying at VCU. Will it in fact happen and be a true "done deal"? Tomorrow will tell or in the near future. A press conference to just give an update? That doesn't make sense. They could just as easily release a statement on their progress and stance. Also the fact they never addressed the rumors as false. There's just too much of a coincidence with Shaka rumors and the new president. Howland could have been ours already without that announcement, I truly believe. Maybe I'm wearing my blue and gold glasses, naive, or an optimist.

That being said. I'm happy with their president choice and hope this leads to the further strengthening of the basketball program. I've been refreshing this board and twitter for the last 3 days. It's been a rollercoaster but a fun one at that. At least it gave us something to talk about with MU's poor season.

Keep up the good work. I, for one, can say I appreciate the hard work and dedication you guys put into this board and support of the program. The rumors, the sources, the humor, all of it. For some strange reason, I haven't been this proud to be a fan of Marquette, despite the "done deal" fiasco, in a long time. In due time gentlemen, good things are happening.

Shaka is still in play.  The ship may be sailing soon, though.  There may or may not be another candidate in between Shaka and Howland.  Fluid situation.

Let's relax and respect the process here.

Also is valid to point out almost none of the players who are on the roster next year are tweeting. Duane is normally the only guy tweeting relevant stuff, he even tweeted about Shaka. Now his twitter is deleted. Makes you wonder...
