I was never contacted, so I can say it is not me. Were any of the other expert coaches on this board contacted?

I've got it...

- MU tells BH they are interested but must announce the pres before committing to anything.  Asks for his "Patiece" and to respect the process.

- MU pushes the announcement of the pres up.  This was done for three reasons.  1.  To validate their response to BH.  2.  To buy time for negotiation with Shaka without making BH feel like a secondary option.  3.  To ease whatever concern Shaka (may have) had regarding the lack of permanent leadership.

- My guess (and hope) is that Shaka has until tomorrow afternoon to make up his mind.  As many of you have suggested, I feel the presser was scheduled as a place holder and a way to show Shaka that a firm deadline has been set.  If he decides to come to MU, the purpose of the presser will be changed.  If he turns down MU, the presser will be used to debunk the Shaka rumors and put the nonsense to bed.

Time will tell.  Patiece

That would pretty much sully the relationship with BH.  And we'll need that when the "Shaka to..." posts begin in a few years.

Nope, to all of this

Only reporting what I had heard.  Don't doubt there's people more connected than me with better info.

That is all.  I seriously don't know who it is, I do know who it's not  :-\.  And I know he's happy with the hire. The guy would tell me he thinks it's probably going to be announced tomorrow and that we were right about the whole president timeline being bumped forward to make the hire the president's thing.

Sorry, Piper, I didn't realize who you were.  I was just messin' with you.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

After reading this post I know exactly as much about what is going on as I did before reading this post, which is ZERO.

I can definitively state that the administration was not impressed with my mixed tape of the rotary soccer team I coached. So I'm out.

MUfan12

Piper got some bad info, and there was no hire made as of this morning. Not his fault, the rumors are crazy with these searches.

RTP and all that.

Mike_Marquette

I was a long time poster on the Rivals board before the "split" and have been out of the  Marquette message board game so to speak for a while. Kids and career will do that to you. This whole coach search has pulled me back in and it's been very entertaining. The GIFs are incredible.

Anyways, I keep seeing people refer to their "source" as to what they heard. I just want to say that a "Source" in a journalistic sense is not your roommate, or a poster on a message board, or a friend, or a neighbor, or someone you overheard on the bus to work.

A "Source" is someone who you know has 1) direct inside knowledge not generally available to the public and 2) is someone whose credibility you can vouch for if questioned. In other words, reading something on someone else's message board or on Twitter does not give you a "source." I think part of the confusion is people post that they have a  "Source" saying XYZ, and people infer that means someone who is truly a "Source" when it really means some random person. So if your "source" is just some random person, maybe just say "your heard......"

Lecture over. Hope this ends soon and favorably. Ring Out Ahoya.
