K-State fans were spreading this rumor over the weekend. It's picked up no traction anywhere since.
Except here, now. Because Scoop loves drama.

I will always be a Marquette fan, but I hear you. I found myself tuning out much of this past season. There are more important things to be annoyed at other than mu basketball

That's what I talking about. As this crappy season dragged on, I found myself becoming more and more disengaged. At first, it was hard to kick my MU addiction, but after a while, it was pretty easy. Even found myself forgetting MU had a game that night until I saw the result the next day.

I certainly don't want to bail on my school and team. But they're really forcing my hand.

I hope that is plan G.  I've posted this a few times, but with the volume of posts, I'm sure a lot haven't seen.  I know people who know Shaka Smart. They all say that he is without question, one of the most introspective guys alive. He is anal beyond belief. He asks hundreds of questions and runs through scenario after scenario and thinks long-term, short-term and everything in between. Unlike Buzz, who played the "aw shucks" but still thought he was the smartest guy in the room, Smart is the smartest guy in the room. He could have gone to any Ivy and is known for his intellect. It isn't in his DNA to make a quick, rash decision no matter what is on the table. We have not heard a "no" -- that is a good sign. I have no inside knowledge of the negotiations, but it is definitely coming to a close.

My thought is that if it is Smart, we will hear of on twitter before the announcement. Nothing has been leaked by Smart and that is a good thing. But he seems like the type of guy who will talk to his players, then announce his plans (if he does intend to leave). He will tell his players not to say anything until he announces, but that never happens. On the flip side, if we don't hear anything for a while, that would lead me to believe that a guy that has no current players, like say Howland, will be announced in short order.

Those are the two guys I would like to see. The idea of Wardle just makes me cringe. And that some here think he would be a good choice baffles me. What about Brian Barone?

Who thinks Wardle is a good idea? That fan club could fit in a phone booth.

Howland < < < < < Wainwright < a garbage can < < < Bruce Weber < Cuonzo Martin

Let's just roll out that Al hologram, find a few recorded sayings to play on loop, and call it our coach.

Did you fail 6th grade math?

Congrats, guys. You're getting a good one. He's a great coach and an even better person. I'll be cheering you guys on next season. Best of luck with Bruce and company.

No doubt an impact hire. Would negatively impact recruiting, ticket sales, and prospects of remaining a major program.

HIRE HOWLAND NOW!!!!!!!

Receiving unusual volume of rumors from Wildcat country, indicating that there may be serious interest between the two camps.

I'm friends with a large number of KSU fans out here in Denver and every single one of them has confirmed that all rumors about Weber coming to MU were started by them on their message board just minutes after Buzz's announcement to VT came out.

Please dear god no.

He can coach.  Recruiting is the question mark, nothing that can't be solved by an ace recruiter or two on staff.  I'm good with him.    Could coach circles around C. Martin, Wardle, many of the names.  And a much more likeable guy than Howland without the baggage from UCLA.

I don't know who we'd be recruiting in Milwaukee.  ::)

And you know the plane was bound for Milwaukee?  Your original post didn't specify a thing about its destination.
