Think this is bad news for Shaka - if they had him they wouldn't care if the anticipations builds. If it's not him, they want to throw cold water on the rumors to avoid the Howland announcement sounding like a fart.

If you're telling me there is a 2:00 pm presser...then that's the time we finally get a coach. No way Cords calls the media together to give an "update." Update what??? He can't reveal names....can't discuss circumstances. That makes zero sense.

Why would they even acknowledge "rumors." Schools don't discuss their jilted lovers, unless it's a coach who left the team (a la Crean or Buzz). They're not going to say who turned them down.

Might make some sense, but you'd think they could do that without a press conference. But perhaps they think it would be a good strategy to make an impending Howland hire look as good as possible.
