Newest Rumor: VCU to Big East

I've been scanning the VCU boards.  The latest rumor is that they're scrounging up money to buy out of the A10 and go to the Big East. 

If that is the case then, Shaka isn't coming here.  Seems to me the purpose of his media machine is to stay relevant in the public eye and boost VCU to keep changing conferences for more money.

I wouldn't take what they say too seriously.  I was reading their board and one of them claimed that they accidentally walked on Shaka changing clothes in the mens locker room at the athletic facility.  Poster said that Shaka actually has wings, finally confirming his long-held belief.

If I take this seriously. 

1) Does Fox Sports Approve?
2) Is Georgetown OK with it (TV market angle).
3) most (not all) conference movements are even numbers.  That is why we are 10.  So who else comes with them to make it 12 (or 14)?
4) Is the rest of the BE OK diluting their Fox deal?
5) If we are expanding, are their other A10 or Horizon schools that will jump first, that are more attractive?

I know, don't let the facts get in the way of a good idea.

Horizon schools jumping to BE? Georgetown's problem with VCU isn't market share, it's winning recruiting battles in the Va Beach area.

If hypothetically it was happening, I'm sure the AD would be requesting donations regardless. Any perceived "good news" should be followed strongly by a fundraising campaign.

VCU fans are the nouveau riche among college basketball fans. They are still so giddy from 2011, they don't know how to handle their success. So they go to other boards and talk about how every other program is not worthy of Shaka.

They are the ones who go buy the flashy Rolex with Daddy's money, while MU fans are content with a classic, well-built Hamilton. They are confident enough that they don't need to go to other boards and brag about their successes.
