If he hadn't gone to MU, no one on this board with his resume would have him on the list.  Let him grow some more, his next stop should not be at MU, anymore than Tod Kolwacyk's was.

Nice guy for the future. We would lose every recruit signed and most of current players. Has he had terrific recruits?  I just don't see this. Not saying it won't be done but not seeing any benefit to Marquette other than saving money.

Not saying it will happen—and praying it doesn't.

But I can see some members of the BoT saying..."Gee, why must we go through this every six years? Let's go out and get someone from the MU family. Someone who will be here forever. He'll be our Boeheim or Coach K."

Hey, we could cut our budget to a third.  Bank some cash and tank for a couple years.

Any more fictional hires to bring out the worry warts?

I'd dial back the attitude. This morning, ESPN's Jeff Goodman—someone totally in touch with college hoops—stated the three names being associated with MU are Howland, Hopkins from Syracuse, and Wardle.

Goose

I would say Goodman is not credible at this moment then.

See CBB's post at the top.  If he hadn't played at MU, no one, including Goodman would be mentioning his name with this job

As a Marquette alum, I think even Wardle would be disappointed if they hired Wardle.

Well, he was one of the few who stopped short of declaring "Shaka to MU!" That alone puts him ahead of many.

avid1010

i can't believe anyone at mu is interested in talking with goodman.  not sure what his connections are within vcu, but i can't believe anyone around mu appreciated his relationship with buzz the last few years.

LovinCrowder

If they hire Wardle, I will give up my season tickets of 30 years.

Really? I thought Wardle was in contact with MU. Was told he met Cords. I'm sure he's not at the top of the list but someone they're "looking at". Maybe out of respect.

Goodman adding Wardle to the mix is a jab at MU. He will be last guy to give MU benefit of the doubt. He is in Buzz's pocket and has been for awhile. Aside from VCU fans no one wants Shaka to pass more than Buzz. Goodman is spinning for Buzz.

Who in the hell started this subject. Here is our chance to get our program back in the ELITE. We depend

on basketball. We have to have a big name. Otherwise have Willie Warrior as our coach.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Rico Zone.

I stumbled upon this looking back at old posts from the guy that posted the NIL salary topic and found this.  Great theater, imo

Wardle wouldn't have had Zaide in there at the end.

Wow, reading this thread was a trip down memory lane.

Didn't realize how many guys with thousands of posts are gone now.
Have some patience, FFS.
