So you're saying he didn't leave Pullman?  Now I'm confused.

Anyone who thinks anyone wouldn't leave Pullman is as dumb as the people who want to stay in Pullman forever.

Except Keefe.  If there were airplanes in heaven, Pullman would be the pearly gates for him.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

He's not.  UW is his dream job.  Would never leave MU to go to UW.  I know this for fact.  Grew up with him.
This is not true. Bennett was contacted, interested and listening when Buzz pulled his SMU move. If Buzz had left then, I'm confident Bennett would be the MU coach right now. He was also the #1 choice ahead of Shaka. Strong and Co. were on a jet east immediately for two targets: Bennett and Smart. I assumed Bennett was not interested when all the Smart stuff started up. Still think it's Smart, but have no inside knowledge either way.

There's a lot of this going around.

"Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism." - George Washington

"In a time of deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." - George Orwell

Obviously, he left Pullman for Charlottesville.  I'm saying after Crean left he wouldn't leave Pullman for MKE.  As a result, I find it hard to believe he'd bail on UVA for MU.

I would agree it is unlikely he would leave VA for MU. But he most definitely would have taken the MU job instead of waiting for UW if Strong threw the right $$ after him.

Bennett making 1.7M now, has a number one seed team in NCAA and is in the ACC.  Would be a tough get for MU.

Would have loved that. He's a good man and a great coach.

I too would have loved to get Tony Bennett, but he wouldn't talk to MU when Crean left and he won't talk to us now.  He is bitter that MU snubbed his dad when Dick Bennett was looking to move up.
