Paul is Dead?  Keefe, tell me it's not true!!

Please pass the mustard, asked Sara.
And what, no horseradish with that corned beef?
Too spicy, she replied.

I have two friends who are former IU athletes.  When Crean was hired they were ecstatic.  Yesterday I spoke w/ my buddy regarding this Twitter cluster and he asked; "want Crean back?"  They're starting to dislike him immensely.

And if they win next year, they'll start to like him again.  How would you rate the "like" factor of Buzz's coaching this year vs the last few years?  No different

Are you going back to haikus soon? I feel like that would be better at driving everyone wild.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I think it was Goose who said early on that MU was approached by a big name coach.

That coach was supposedly Shaka Smart. Did he really approach MU?

That name would be Ben Howland.

It was a coach from a "big time program." Howland certainly wouldn't fit that category.

I'd agree that winning masks things, but if you're really honest, the bottom line is that Crean isn't a real likable guy on or off the court. You need a certain amount of ego, but he takes it beyond bearable. It's just who he is, and I'm not a Crean hater. He brought us back to relevancy and I appreciate it. Buzz was more of a crazy uncle kind of guy that was as lovable as flat out weird. He had the ego, but he tried to hide it in his "aw shucks" way versus Crean, who didn't really care what anyone thought. Winning makes it all better, but once "character is revealed" you still know you're in bed with the devil. Smart and Howland are respected by many, and I hope it goes that way. I've heard some Marshall control/ego stuff in the Crean vein that I hope we can avoid.

All the guys I've talked to in the last 48 hours say Smart is a savant -- deliberate, conservative and a true critical thinker. He is a pro/cons, long-term, short-term, weigh-every-option, hundreds-of-questions kind of guy. I'll say it again, that he hasn't said "no" by now is a good sign.
