Chicos' Buzz Scandal Countdown

Totally different. Nobody here is privy to the details, we're repeating what we've heard from TV news stations and basketball analysts.

If this is a Bobby Knight situation, it's something that MU's athletic dept needs to learn from.

This is the age of the internet. This is what happens now.

Could anyone fill me in on this story?  I can't recall ever hearing it.

Knight was close to coaching at Wisconsin?

He verbally accepted the job, but told UW do not spill the beans yet until he returned to West Point.  UW spilled the beans, Knight told them to go F themselves and later became the IU coach.  John Powless accepted the job the day Knight turned it down.

1. I am 99.9% sure this has nothing to do with our situation.

2. If the .1% part is true and this actually did compel Shaka Smart to not take a coaching job he wanted, then screw him. Marquette is too good for him.

Oh wait ... maybe he had reconsidered and was just about to take the job and save our program! But he read that I said "Screw him" and backed out of it again.

Now it's my fault!! Oh, the shame!!!!!

I do not remember the story but have heard about Knight to UW. Was he a big name, like Smart, at the time. Thing in 2014 you are comparing apples and oranges. Very few deals happen in 2014 without a ton of leaks.

All true...leaks happen.  I just wish done deal and "confirmed" and things of that nature weren't used.  Snowballs.  I can't imagine MU is very happy right now.

The unhappiness is certainly a done deal.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Finally, an explanation I can give to my grandkids!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Holy crap, tell WISN there is a press conference in madison! Bo getting replaced by Knight!
