Anyone else fascinated at the role social media is playing in the events these last few days? Information moves so quickly in this digital age -- how the hell did we manage to get through our last coaching search without Twitter?? I find myself glued to my phone waiting for the next piece of information to drop. Think of how much we have rumored, speculated, and learned in such a short period of time. Also, does anyone else feel like Marquette has a larger than average imprint on social media and that is at least a small part of the "relationship" that Buzz referenced? We have a lot of armchair coaches on Twitter and this message board and Buzz got skewered on more than a few occasions (many times deserved). Anyways, I am just an old guy who is fascinated by all of this.

Actually, the Warriors could have used Don Kojis, social media, or no social media, this past year. Nixon at point would have also been great.

I have a hard time believing any big time coach would spend time reading a message board.

Buzz absolutely knew what was being written here..and the other forums...how much time he spent directly reading Scoop personally - probably limited - but, he definitely had a pulse on what was being said here and the other forums...
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

I agree that Buzz in all his craziness had a pulse on what was going on within the message boards. When I look at other schools message boards, I don't think they compare to Marquette's in terms of depth of analysis. I think we have a very passionate fan base and we were pretty tough on Buzz this year. Remember when he was upset that he thought the home crowd booed the team this year? I think Buzz is just an emotional and insecure guy that needed to be loved. Weired, but probably close to the truth.

I just don't see the point. How does that help him do his job - win basketball games? Put your blinders on and go to work. Was this Buzz being a peculiar individual or do all coaches do this?

Obviously you want to make the fans happy, but the quickest and surest way to do that is to win ballgames.
