We have heard repeatedly from Buzz about character and the MU culture. He is full of crap. He left after a terrible year and downgraded his coaching profile. He was a sham and I hope he squirms in the ACC basement until he's fired. Nothing would make me happier than to see him crawl back to NO in a couple of years to see if they would take him back. Good riddance!! The MU culture was here before you and will be well after you.

So he is now the Bret Bielema of BB coaches?

I think he received a lot of criticism this year. I also take this as an indication that he felt next year was not going to be any better. One substandard year and you can still get another decent job. Two substandard years and demand for your services disappears. I am disappointed that Buzz is leaving, but it probably is the right move for him to make. As long as our signed recruits do not follow him to Virginia Tech, I will not be mad at Buzz. I suspect we will lose some of them, which is unfortunate. However, MU should only release them, if they do not go to Virginia Tech.

keep slurping. The guy is a two bit charlatan.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

I honestly don't understand all the animosity towards Buzz. He took a different job. I can't fault him for that. He has his own motivations, which none of us know. Whether it is because he was asked to leave or decided MU wasn't the place for him, he brought MU to a great spot. Five consecutive trips to the NCAA's, two S16's, and an E8. Jesus, some programs would die to have that type of success.  I'm bummed to see him go. He was an eccentric coach who did things his own way and I have enjoyed every season he was here. This one obviously was a particularly challenging one that made me question some of his decisions, but I still appreciate what he did for MU. (granted, if misdeeds that hurt the program come to light, my opinion will change 180 degrees)

If Buzz wanted to save some face he would make a statement that he "would not accept any transfer to VT of kids he has coached or recruited". That is what I would like to see.

Or maybe MU thinks basketball was too big of our culture. Everyone has different view. I look at MU as ball school and maybe others do not.
