I will defend Buzz when necessary, against falsehoods.  That is the same I did for TC.  The issue I've always had with Buzz is the squirm factor and what I had come to know or heard.  For that, I took a lot of grief here.  Most of it was fine, but when I was told I wasn't an MU fan and a few other comments, that didn't sit well with me.  I'll admit it.

Any doubts about your loyalty should have been fully squashed after you posted the pics of that awesome quilt that you had made.

Read that he met with team this afternoon. Sorry, forget which article.

I hope so, because that would make it all better.   ;)

You should see my office...Marquette Warriors stuff everywhere.

Bummer of a day.  I hate starting over again.  On to the next guy.

VegasWarrior77

I'm actually happy we are starting over.  The squirm factor with Buzz along with his quirks and coaching this season was unbearable.  MU will be fine.  Let's get all the crap out in the open and get moving forward!

I was hoping you would take the high road and just finally admit it....two can play that game.  Sorry, but I've been bashed here for a number of years.  I'm curious to see who is going to step up finally and admit it.  You can be the first.  Tip of my hat to you if you do.

Believe me, today sucks.  Nothing I hate more than seeing coaches continue to come in and out every 5 or so years.  It says something....I'll let you guys decide.

There is a reason I have bagged on the Buzz schtick, the "I'll be here as long as MU will have me" (though it might come clearer this may be more truthful), so on and so forth.  The bummer is that I actually think he is a very good coach and have said it here many times.  He's an odd dude, always has been.  There were things from the very beginning on a few guys that didn't sit well with me (or others).  I brought them up here, felt more than squirmy about those things and basically got arse raped by some of the members (no pun intended) on this site.  Those were my concerns.  I loved a lot of things about him, too.  He's not an evil guy, but he wasn't Jesus Christ either.

Over the next month or so, I suspect you might hear some interesting things.  Time for the next guy in.  Wouldn't it be great to get a guy that wants to be here for the next 15 years?

I'll admit that I bought Buzz's shtick hook, line and sinker.
I had my wife who's a special education teacher watch the video on Buzz's Bunch last week.  She was impressed.  She just asked me; "What happens to them?"  They're orphans now, I guess, was my answer.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Spaniel with a Short Tail

I'm OK with his leaving.  Got to trust the administration. I never had a problem with LW and was somewhat sorry he left. So many posters were gloating back then how LW was messing with Buzz's happy.

If I had a shot of tequila for every time someone posted "Don't mess with happy" I'd be one pickled Warrior!

We will persevere. Ring Out Ahoya!

LW called out his head coach in the local newspaper. Regardless of opinions of Buzz, you don't do that.

No, incorrect.  I have a son in the program.  Buzz emailed me his personal email this morning.  Your orphan comment is disgusting.

Your only other comment is pretty similar in maturity.  Surprised you didn't get a chuckle.

Ha, nice research.  In all seriousness, I couldn't be more proud of Buzz and our experience with him.  He gave the time of day to anyone interested.  When it comes to kids there should be no joking around, IMO.

Today has been odd.  Buzz left.  We don't know why.  People are questioning his integrity.  The comment that struck the largest chord was yours.  You have a wife in Special Ed.  You referred to the kids left from Buzz's Bunch as orphans.  I'm curious how your wife reacted to your comment.  What did she say?  If she was okay with what you said please tell me what district so I can make sure she is not teaching my son.

Hey dickhead - you are giving MU a bad name. What Buzz did for all kids in Buzz's Bunch is unreal. Never did it for any type of publicity, just because he has a big heart. You're pathetic.

Nor should you. A good looking guy like Steve Buscemi should be getting more ass than a public toilet seat. It would be unfair to deny women, quite frankly

Is he an a-hole now?  So it was Larry and Pilarz that drove him out?

BW isn't an pretty boy. He just overplayed his hand. I am guessing that he didn't emerge from the sh1t fight with LW unscathed, for some of the reasons you have alluded to among others. I'm hearing some key people got sick of his prima donna BS.

Crean, on the other hand, was a monstrous human being without few redeeming qualities. There is a huge difference between the two cases.

My point was the hypocrisy here by posters, not the actions of the coaches.  I'm not going to get into an argument about which guy is a bigger douche or which guy is a better angel. I honestly don't care...I find them all to be self serving.  The hypocrisy of the fan base, however, was just that.  A lot of crow eating tonight.  A few of them haven't been here since the announcement...I honestly worry about their state of mind and health right now.

Frenns Liquor Depot

Thanks for the concern.  We are fine -- disappointing on many levels but optimistic for the future. Buzz in my mind was great for the program; disappointed he left and don't think it is a university issue.

Let's hope the next guy is half as successful as buzz and twice as nice as Tom Crean at Indiana.  May the basketball gods shine bright...
