if another 15 loss season next year, why would that be a foolish statement?

Possibly, but there's no chance he will be "looking at real estate listings out of state".  That's foolish talk

Doesn't make me happy at all.....you want to keep things going.  Keep the program going.

I am thinking about readjusting my 5 year coaching evaluation to 6 years, however.

Was this a joke? Or were you being serious here?

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Buzz's seat at Marquette is still ice cold. If we turn in a similar season next season....it will still be cold. Three in a row might warm the seat up.

I am amazed that anyone thinks Buzz would be fired so quickly after three straight sweet 16s and an elite 8.

Buck up everyone, the future is bright!

It was a joke, but year 6 was not a good year for Buzz...be it as a GM or a coach, major disappointment.  It happens, MU is not an exception. Every year you can rattle off how this happens to programs, but a major disappointment nonetheless.

Good money that could be used to bring in Grambling next year.

Thanks for the laugh on a night when it was needed.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I hope Malek Harris enrolls at Marquette next year just so he can set your hair on fire.

I suspect she still will.  Just because someone takes a dig at the coach of this year's squad, does that it less solid or perhaps more truthful?  It wasn't a good year, a MAJOR disappointment.

Why would you say that?  Suggesting that Buzz will be fired is "perhaps more truthful".  You can be a strange duck at times, sir.

The Elite 8 run was incredibly lucky though, and I hope people realize that when considering how to judge Buzz's tenure.  It certainly signaled that the high expectations heading into this year might've been too difficult to reach, but also signaled that last year's team was not a top 10 kind of team.

The start of Boot Camp is right around the corner! Here's an idea -- next season, scrap the boot camp and have a free throw camp or perimeter jumper camp.

I didn't see where she suggested Buzz would be fired.  I was responding to El's post that at times she posts solid stuff, but not there is vitriol.  If she said he should be fired, I don't agree with it.  On the other hand, if she is challenging some of the coaching decisions, etc, this year then I don't see how that lessens here "solid posting".  Again, I didn't see where she called for his firing, but I don't read all the posts so I may have missed it.

Lucky or not, it is an elite 8. And we were a three seed. We were expected to beat every team but Miami. I get that Davidson required a miraculous comeback, but that was after we played one of our worst games and they played one of their best.

Hoo Boy. Not in NIT. In Buzz we trust. He be the man.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Sorry, someone had to it..... Barnes to MU...........?

You have to pay to be in the CBI?

The CIT was announced on Friday before even the NCAA or NIT teams were named.

Correct. It's called equity, and Buzz has earned plenty of it. Ridiculous to think he'd be dismissed next year if we had a repeat of this year

Awwww, someone definitely got out of the wrong side of the bed.  Maybe you can go makeup some more stuff....I hear Sherry's regional college basketball newsletter run out of her house for the wives at the moose lodge picked a team 4th....you should have used that one.

I had a bad feeling about this.

Especially with all of the top conf teams dropping.

I hope these seniors and underclassmen fully understand why winning games during the regular season matters.

Yeah, the 14-4 Big East Championship season, 3 seed, top 10 ranking, rout of Miami, Elite 8 season was all just one pile of incredible luck. LOL

Wow. You are never as giddy as when you can write post after post ripping MU and Buzz and being an apologist for your real team/coach.

Must be nice in that imaginary little world of yours where a team - with 2 McDonald's AAs, college basketball's 6th man of the year and several 4 stars, picked to finish in the first division of college basketball's toughest conference by everyone and the top 28 nationally by writers and coaches - "about meets expectations, maybe a teensy, weensy bit worse" by losing 12 of 19 against Big 10 opponents, missing both the NCAA and NIT and finishing 72nd in Pomeroy and 99th in the RPI. MAJOR disappointment to every Indiana fan but you - keep slurping, your mancrush on TC is alive and well.
