I know how bad this board got after Providence.

Please be civil. Tough loss and a tough season. That's all I can say.

WayOfTheWarrior

But this is the internet!!!

But I had our game-plan for Creighton all figured out too!

Darn. Ehh, I hope we play Indiana somehow.

The team battled tonight.  Very entertaining game.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

I enjoyed watching the last three games. Twas a shame that we lost them. Looking forward to an NIT run!

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I am not entertained by losses in March.  In December, maybe, in March any loss sucks.

PuertoRicanNightmare

How's this for civil...I thought we played really, really well tonight. Burton, Derrick, Mayo all had great games. We lost. They beat us. We are not that good and that's that. I look forward to an NIT bid, which I hope is forthcoming.

If that's what it's come to...being satisfied that it was an entertaining game....then this program has gone pretty far downhill.  Xavier is no powerhouse, and a decent game from MU would have won.  But MU is no better in it's last game than it was in it's first.

Clam Crowder

It was a good game. Saw tonight that some of the seniors leaving really might not be the worst thing. The FT shots summed up alot of Jamil this year. That should have been an insult to him. Instead he made Mack look like a genius.

Todd can be THE GUY next year. We needed someone to be THE GUY this year and he did it for us the last 3 games. It is time for the Mayo and Burton show and I am pretty excited for that.

Uh...Xavier's got two Elite 8s and three Sweet 16s in the last ten years. MU?

It's come down to the realization of what the talent-level and potential of this year's team was.  The team had numerous weaknesses.  They lacked that go-to leader, not only at the end of games, but that motivated the team through rough patches.  We were a poor shooting 3-point shooting team.  We had a poor offensive back court.  We couldn't defend the 3.  We were not special defensively.  We couldn't beat any tournament teams.  We couldn't win the tight games that we used to win with ease in year's past.

All that being said, I still loved watching this year's team.  It was different, yet very special.  A lot of flawed pieces were mixed and mashed to try and find that winning combo.  There just wasn't one.

Will Buzz allow him to be the guy (plural)?  I want desperately to believe that!

We are not that good and that's that.

This is it. Despite people wanting to believe that the back-up QB is going to lead the team to a Superbowl, this team just is not that good. There are a lot of reasons for it and a lot of blame to pass around. Ultimately, it has been a great ride for awhile, but I suppose we were due for a down year.

Warrior of Law

The junior and sophomore classes were useless and the senior class underachieved. The frosh were benched.  I don't know how this season got us any closer to being an above average team.  Ultimately, I disagree that this was a fun team to watch.  Too frustrating.

Mayo was "useless?"

Warrior of Law

Correction: Mayo was solid. Wished he was a starter and regular offensive option.

Thanks hoopers for giving it a go all year, in the end they were over-rated and under performed BUT not for lack of effort.  We are still Marquette

Let's go next year, future is bright if none of the frosh decide to bail on MU and if Buzz learns some coaching lessons and sticks around

I think Buzz would allow Mayo to be the guy as long as he doesn't screw-up academically, etc. I think Mayo would have played more earlier in the year if not for the ankle injury that kept him out for a week or two? And probably slowed his practice/development, plus the suspension for whatever it was, late to practice?

Is Jamil still on the team?

Oh wait ... that probably wasn't civil.

I have the faith in Buzz that he will allow that to happen.  A learning year for everyone.

Do you genuinely believe Derrick played a great game tonight Lenny?  I certainly can say he played better than he has the last 3 outings...but I cannot call tonight's performance anything better than serviceable...
