Who do we want to win?

Who helps us the most?

My assumption is that a Georgetown win helps us the most since we beat them twice.

PGsHeroes32

absolutely not. If we have any chance at the making the tourney Gtown needs to lose. Providence needs to lose and STJ(only play us) needs to lose.

Does not matter we need to win BET to get in the Dance

Even from an RPI perspective?

MarsupialMadness

Marquette not even on the bubble of the big east bubble according to FS1

Not going to matter a lot at this point.

We beat Gtown twice and are already behind them on the bubble. They win today and we have no shot to catch them

I don't think it matters too much who wins this game, unless Georgetown ends up stealing a bid from us, which I don't see happening

Eldon

I think id rather see Gtown win. We CANNOT have two teams in the tourney, that's pathetic. X is not a lock yet, IMO.

There are A LOT of teams on the bubble, we are pretty low on the pecking order.

PGsHeroes32

BE is not only getting two in. Basically impossible.

This is BS. Vs us Wragge rains. Couldn't hit the broad side of the barn against X. Now the whole team looks drunk vs Gtown.

FWIW, according to RPI Wizard if G-Town beats Creighton and Nova they would have an RPI of 45 so that would give Marquette 2 more top 50 RPI wins

I guess that would be good lol

Beat me to it.  It's the reason why I prefer Gtown winning.  MU will have to get in on their own merit.  Right now "lack of t50" wins is a big strike against us.

I dont think Mu and Gtown will end up fighting for a bid, which would be the only downside.

Eldon

Man, refs are letting them play! I like it.

Can we get these guys for the BE tourney?

Creighton is playing awful

Creighton isn't that good. For some reason they got up to play Mu and nova twice. Good luck next year. Good win for Gtown.

chapman

I miss that feeling.  367 days since we had a regular season win against a ranked team.

I'm sure some will disagree, but this Gtown win is a good for MU and also the Big East.

1) I believe Gtown is in the dance now with this win added to their resume... likely making 4 Big East teams in the dance: Creighton, Nova, X (yes), and Georgetown.

2) It also turns Gtown into a Top 50 rpi team now.  This gives all the Big East teams which beat the Hoyas another Top-50 win.  Only MU swept them (out of X, StJ, and Prov) thus it benefits MU best by adding two badly needed top-50 wins.

The only caveat would be that Gtown would be stealing a bid potentially MU can get.  However, if MU doesn't get in, it's not because Gtown stole the last spot.  I believe there will be quite a few teams difference between the two teams.

The good outweighs the bad.

Georgetown is #56 in the RPI.
