Our guy was a little harsh on our chances of making the tourney. He completely wrote off a 3-1 record as adequate to warrant consideration. That's just flat-out wrong. However, I did like the "barf" reference to tonight's game. It's going to be a scrappy, grind-it-out game that may at times induce the spewing of chunks. But, just win baby.

source?

I like it. Might have to save to the "favorites" tab temporarily just until I get the chance to test out that cheese list.

if it is posted by the board's resident troll, dont expect it to have anything positive to say about Marquette.

I must admit I took the bait and read it.  HAte to say I can never get those 5 minutes back.  Article consists of a bunch of lame attempts at humor an the tried and true...JuJuan should be playing over Jake, Derrick sucks, and even some further reaches... appears to be written by  drunken high schooler.  Save your time.

Actually the anonymous eagle guys are really good. Give their sight a look. Thats just how Rubie acts. He loves Marquette but sets his expectations low so he doesnt get disappointed.

Fine article, the cheese mentions were a ray of sunshine in a bleak outlook for the rest of the season.

I would add that I have been to many wine and cheese parties and for my money, you can have the little breads, Ritz crackers, saltines, and melba toasts and just pair my cheeses with Original Triscuits.  Just my two cents.
"Nice helmet!"
"Actually, it's not a helmet, it's a hairmet.  You see, it's got extra room in it so you don't mess up your hairdo."
"I'm going to write you a prescription for two testicles, you get it filled whenever."

He set his expectations really low.

The guy didn't even thinking wining out these last 4 would be enough. What an idiot.

Yup.  Many opinions out there.  They have some fun takes on things.  Some are overboard, but some different perspectives.

If Chicos posted the time from the US Naval Observatory, would you argue he should have looked at Greenwich?

Would he find a way to make the post in such a way that it looks laudatory toward Coach Crean and condescending toward MU and Coach Williams?    Because if anybody could, it would be Chicos.

Pretty negative. We have one down year and suddenly it's 'I don't know when we're gonna be good again'?

Also says we'll "We'll soon be playing [the Big East Tournament] in Brooklyn (ew) or Indy (snore) or Atlantic City (shudder)."
“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” - T.E. Lawrence

What you also have to realize is that theyre other writers there besides Rubie. Honestly, those guys give the best previews and recaps of MU games. Much better than the JS.

Hate these uneducated opinions. Indy is a fantastic sports town. Locals support anything that's been here - super bowl, Final fours, B10 championships, etc. Many in the press/media thought the super bowl was going to be "yawn" and were ecstatic about the results.

The next good basketball thought I get out of Anonymous Eagle will be the first one.

Indy is a nice, clean, somewhat entertaining Midwestern city. I've been there a couple times for work and was pleasnatly surprised--pretty good dining, solid bar scene, sizeable downtwon area. It will just never have that energy or life force or whatever you want to call it that you feel in the Big Apple. But as far as everything else, I wouldn't be terrribly disappointed if the tourney ended up there--still disappointed because NYC is one of a kind and it makes for a great excuse to get out there.

If we had to move from the Garden, I'd much prefer Indy over Brooklyn or Atlantic City.

I agree with this.  Indy is great for sporting events because everything is right there.  Hotels...bars...restaurants, etc.  Definitely has a more vibrant downtown scene then Milwaukee...but I would rather be in Milwaukee overall.

Never been to NYC, but i understand that. I'm more referring to the thought of Indy as a "yawn" destination. I forgot to mention how easy it is to get around. Never have to drive or take a cab to get places, if you don't want. Everything walking distance.

Indy is a fine place for events because it is so close to many other places, but I just don't care for it at all as a city.  Stuff to do, but boresville, cookie cutter as a city.  I hear all this hype about Broad Ripple.  Eh.  Give me Milwaukee anyday.

Exactly.  Indy is a better destination for a sporting event, but I would rather live in Milwaukee.
