I understand that he wants more playing time so he can show off his talents and make it to the NBA as soon as possible.  I just don't understand why he wouldn't pick North Carolina or Marquette.  On Sportscenter the Top 25 teams are the only teams that are seen so it seems like if he wanted to get himself out there he would have chose North Carolina or Marquette.  Also, I am not sure but I'd assume they both have more nationally televised games than Georgia Tech?

exactly... let's not forget about the big picture on the Iman decision.  MU is gonna have a GREAT team for at least the next few years... on the other hand, Georgia Tech will always be a second tier team in the **ACC** (sorry guys... too many beers last night), it'll still be in Atlanta, and it will never be UGA.

Believe me when I say that I'm as disappointed as anyone that Iman chose GT over MU, but let's not bash the kid. He's a great player and let's all wish him the best.

Time to move on.  It was the player's decision not ours.  Al said it -- "the second best answer in recruiting is no."  It allows the coaches a chance to put time and resources into other players.

Where did he say that? The only quotes I read was that he wanted to play point guard and he wanted to play right away. Who's the GT center? If DJ stayed for his senior year, Iman was only going to get 10-15 minutes a game, tops. That's why he chose GT. Good luck to him.

In no way do I mean to bash Iman.  I think he will be successful.

I just think 10-15 minutes of playing time at UNC or MU will get more national expouser from tv and sportscenter than 30+ minutes of playing time at GT.

Part of Dom's national appeal is the big time plays and dunks that are seen on sportscenter.

A couple of points regarding GT - one, I have seen several "posters" here talk about tradition to an 18 year old.  It could be argued that GT has an advantage there vs. MU.  The Bobby Cremins era  - Kenny Anderson, Dennis Scott, Stephon Marbury, 2004 final four.  ACC is a high profile conference that gets more than adequate exposure.  And though GT may be second tier now, that's not so bad in a conference like that.  Is it better to be second tier in the ACC or top tier in C-USA/  Because two year ago that's what we were.  Now we're "top tier" in the BE, but we've done it for only two year, with a third coming up.  Secondly, the poster above says "it's in Atlanta" as if that's a negative vs. Milwaukee.  Not sure of the reasoning behind that?  Distance from his home?  Atlanta is an attractive detination for a lot of athletes (although it certainly doesn't translate into successful professional franchises haha). I was born and raised in MKE- lifelong MU fan (since the days of Dean the Dream) but Not sure I agree with the logic putting down GT - a program with a tradition of its own and a proud conference and city.
