We're pikers.    I actually feel bad for the guy.   Replacing 4 starters is tough.   The Big 1G is tough.   As we are learning ourselves, down seasons can happen.    And if anybody is wondering where Chico's has been, go there and look for the posts from 'Striped Tomato'.   I do admire his consistency.

It's Indiana.  If ever there was an irrational fan base, they are it.

I thought it was only the UK, Purdue and Marquette fans posing as Indiana fans who had problems with TC. Looks like the "real" Hoosier fans are tougher on him than the posters on Peegs.

Good for IU. They deserve to get both barrels of self-servin', dribble from that tired, bullsh ittin', used car salesman.

IU is 13-8 overall, 3-5 in the B1G.  They have #10 Mich this weekend.  Can you say 3-6?

They might be in a worse position to make then Tourney than MU.

Might be.  But they do at least have one quality win against UW... something MU can't say, unfortunately.

Sometimes the grass is greener but it soaks up lots of time, energy along with the expectations to maintain it weed-free and lush green.

He had the #6 recruiting class.
His PG of the future is back.
He had one 5 star and three 4 star recruits. (One who left for MU.)
He has DWade in his pocket.
He has the Kentucky win in his pocket.

Why isn't he winning again?

Unless there's a T Boone Pickens down there TC is safe until his enormous buyout becomes somewhat reasonable. I bow to Jay Bee on this but I think that would be at least 2016.

See my other really popular thread ... In about 10 days that quality win will be no more.

Wonder when the traditional media will finally report on Indiana misleading re: Crean's buyout... and what the I4 faithful's response will be.

And the fact you can beat a ranked opponent but crap against two lower rated teams will frustrate a fandom.

I think if they lost to WI and MSU but beat NW and NE, they'd be level headed about his performance.

This is the curse of beating a ranked team.

After watching MU again today, I agree.  There is really no need for scoop ever to say anything bad since we have our own issues to get in order.  I guess it makes some people feel better about themselves to take down other programs, to each their own.

Is St. John's still up 20?

I again point all the IU followers here, since apparently there are many, to 1988-89 and 1989-90 IU seasons.  Take a look, let me know your thoughts.  Interesting....but you IU followers already knew that.   :P

IU beats Michigan....young teams, as I've said about IU all year long, will do this. They'll win some games that scratch your head and will lose some games that scratch your head.

Meanwhile...

All teams will do this. It's college basketball. Old teams and young teams.

Even young teams like Michigan who have a true-freshman PG... and their two star players are both soph's. Lavert also a soph, Zak Irvin a true frosh.

The reality is Michigan is a younger team than Indiana is. But, whatever fits your agenda, boss.

Indiana of course has a sophomore who played big minutes as a freshman... and who is a McDonald's All-American. He went 7/8 from 3 and played great defense against Michigan's offense, led by a less-heralded true freshman in Derrick Walton.

Also helping Indiana was the so very young Noah Vonleh.. yet another McDonald's AA.

Are you telling me that I4 winning at home against Michigan makes you "scratch your head"? More talent on paper, similar (but more) experience, at one of the Big Ten's Assembly Halls... lol, OK.

It's a nice win, far from amazing or a head scratcher. The reality is that to date I4 has underperformed to any reasonable expectations.

You continue to whine when I4 is spoken about, yet you are quick to make these types of posts.. sad.

Doubt it. I4 has won 16 of the last 17 when Michigan has visited Bloomington, right? I think you're the only one scratching his head over today's outcome.

I'm not scratching it at all, I thought IU would win this game.  Just as I thought IU would lose at Nebraska.  I've had this team pretty well pegged all year long, including the win over Wisconsin when everyone thought I was nuts.

Now, the "experts" and "pundits", yeah those are the guys that scratch their heads...but that's why they are the experts.   :P

For whatever reason, IU has really dominated Michigan the last 15 years or so...most of it post Knight.  Some teams have others numbers.

What is sad is that you equivocate the two.  Did I start a thread on today's win?  Nope.  Did I respond in kind to the thread, yup...just to show the hypocrisy.  Yet you get upset when I do, but don't get upset when others start them.  Uhm, ok.

Boss

I have to laugh at the "reasonable expectations" comment.  Hmm, well they were picked 6th in the Big Ten.  Today, they are in 5th.  Definitely not meeting any of these "reasonable expectations".  LOL.

Boss

Finally, you can judge youth all you want.  It's not just whether they are a senior, or 21, but how much playing time they have.  There is youth in age and there is youth in experience.  Good for Michigan if they are "younger", I'm not going to bother to check and I'll just assume you are right.  When you have 4 starters plus two other players leave that take up 67% of your total minutes, 74% of your points scored, 67% of your rebounding, etc, etc...well you have a young team that is back.

No, no. I find it absurd that you COMPLAIN about others posting about I4, but then YOU do the same. THAT is the hypocrisy.

Get real - they are in a four way tie for 5th. Teams 5 through 8 are the same. The 5th best team in the Big Ten will not have a sub-500 record at season's end, which is what I4 has. They have not met expectations to date.

Boss, obviously your argument above discounts the much higher rated players Indiana has... it ignores the McDonald's All-Americans.. it ignores THE MOVEMENT.. and that guys like Hanner and Hollowell had their minutes limited because of other good players on the team last year... I've heard you say it's a guard's game.. yet you don't want to deal with Michigan's inexperienced PG's... that's fine.. let's put those aside...

At a minimum, though, it would you fair for you to note a fact -- Indiana added Evan Gordon -- a guy who logged well over 3,000 minutes prior to joining I4. Three-thousand. That's brand new "experience" added to this year's team.

Whatever works in your world is your deal.. but the truth is Indiana hasn't performed as well as they should so far this year. It's been a disappointing year thus far. They should* still be a tourney team though.

Maybe it's a fun stat because two of my alma maters are at the top, but in the last 2+ seasons (2011 season to present):

IU has ten wins against top 10 teams, second in the country.

1st, KU, with 12.

There are always going to be complainers and haters, that's just life.  There will be people today that will say Peyton Manning is an average QB because he lost another Super Bowl.  There's nothing you can really do but just shake your head at people like this.  For how many years did Lebron just get crapped on at every turn for not winning the championship?  Fans will be fans, and non-fans will be that and then some.

I just think its funny that like clockwork on this site, when a thread like this one is started, its usually the next game or very soon after that it comes off so funny because they know off someone very good.  Its like karma.  Go through the history of this site and how many predictions of his firing, this and that, blah blah.  Way too much hatred and emotion tied up in people here and almost 7 years later, its still alive and well.

Good thing Its Tennessee, Its Tennessee is calling some of our games now, or I would be really worried that there might be some stalkers here ready to kill his dog.
