Heard post-game comments of Buzz, indicating he was never so disappointed in fans as when he heard "boos" following our slide the second half, letting Providence back in the game.  I hope someone sets Buzz correct, my sense of those boos was for the poor call on Jamil that occurred under the basket just before that T.O. was called.  Granted their was discontent w/ Providence getting back in, but those boos were directed at the officiating, I believe.  Be interested in others observations....

Only watched on TV but I felt like there were a lot of boos after Jake missed that wide open 3 in the 2nd half.

mu_hilltopper

I heard no boos beyond yapping at refs.

There was a game a few weeks ago there were a smattering of boos for the team, though .. can't recall the game.   And by smattering, I'd say maybe 20 people in the ~6 sections around me.

teamdee

Lower bowl fans in their little yellow vests don't understand the process.  Basketball is a game of runs, and we withstood them.  Got a little jumpy with the boos because they don't respect the process.

Litehouse

I thought the same thing for a second, but then realized everyone was getting on the refs.  When the refs finally made a decent call, the fans in my section that had been booing stood up to give the refs a mocking polite golf clap.

There are a few blowhards near us who are constantly complaining or criticizing but I'm not sure I've heard boos

Exactly right. I distinctly remember Jake missing that shot and being very surprised at the boos. Disappointing reaction from some frustrated fans.

Dumb fans.   Jake didn't force any 3's.   If he has a wide open 3, he has to take it.    He missed.   A physical error, not a mental one.

You sure Jake's miss got boo'd?  Or just a bunch of "ARRGGH!!" or "NOOOOO!"  .. because that certainly happened.

Definitely a fair share of boos. I remember my buddy saying, "Are people really booing a missed 3?!"

Think they were booing the continued site of seeing Jake out there 28 minutes...after his unproductive Villanova game...and probably Todd being on the bench.  (Not just the simple fact he missed a 3.)

No one disputes the kids are trying their hardest - where the frustration lies is with the decision of how Buzz is allocating minutes.

Wow.  I somehow missed that in the BC.  Sure we booed the horrible reffing but I truly don't recall a missed Jake shot getting that reaction.  If so, shame on those who participated.  Booing a college team simply isn't appropriate.

GGGG

It happened right after Jake missed a 3, but I thought it was mostly do to a borderline call just earlier that went Providence's way.  I thought it was for the refs.

I thought booing Jake after a missed 3 was noticeable watching on TV, FWIW.

As you've pointed out - it isn't the kids fault they are being put in the games.  Boos, if any should be directed toward Buzz....as he's continued to bang his head against the wall of starting Derrick and Jake and playing them max minutes.  It was even worse earlier in the season when he had those guys paired with Juan and Otule....thank God Buzz finally decided it was moronic to start those 5 guys together.

The boos I heard were definitely in context of the missed three - not sure specific to the three or the growing frustration of lack of offense..

Lot's of booing of the refs occurred for sure, should never boo our own team...

Rudy

Really frustrating to hear boos when a guy simply misses a good shot. I could not believe that...

Boos came across very loudly after Jake missed his 4th three pointer

Yes there were--not sure because of refs or because Providence came back. Usually the boos for a ref call last 3-5 seconds immediately after the lousy call. These continued into Prvidence's possession, which suggests they were against our play. Buzz is right about this, methinks.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

I was surprised to read about the boos this morning, we didn't hear them at the game last night. That must have been closer to the MU bench than we were.

Keeping MUscoop fresh and interesting as always.

Re-watched the game this morning. At the 8:46 to go mark in the second half Jake misses a three pointer.  Boos are easily audible and are fairly loud.  ASsume they were for the miss unless something else was happening on the court that I could not see on the replay.  Not acceptable if they were for Jake.  If you're gonna' boo our team please stay home and boo at your tv.
