Now if Derrick, Chris and jake get the Juan treatment. We might be a solid squad.

It's just incredible that in can be thought of as a good idea to play 3 players this bad at basketball. Forget the fact that they even play and start games together.

Don't make sense by stating the obvious as this board will attack you for being "stupid".

O I am well aware how frowned upon it is to state simple flaws.

Buzz needs 12 All-Americans to coach so even if he doesn't think any of them work hard enough to his liking he is required by NCAA law to play at least 5 of them. Otherwise if you give him 8 All-Americans and 4 duds he'll play the duds and say it's because they work so much harder than the other guys on the team and a team with a ton of overall talent will look like and perform like a mid-major.

Imagine our chances if we did not play 3 on 5 the majority of the second half

Villanova is going to get very call in OT.

Reminds me of when Stanford's coach was kicked out and we got that treatment for a long time.

We just don't have a PG or anyone that can stop theirs

Our problem today was not our pg, it was the about 6 open lay ups that we missed.

Respectfully disagree.  I think most people that know me here think I dwell on the PG too much, but that's been my M.O. since I started watching basketball decades ago.

The point guard dictates pace, can get you into better shots, he settles a team, provides confidence, etc, etc.  So many things that don't show up in the box score.

I think DWill is a fine backup PG, I just have trouble with him as a starter.  Nothing against the kid, he's busting his tail.  I don't feel when I watch MU we have any solid flow, it's tough for him to break down the defense, get the bigs the ball in a scoring position, or just generally run the team with the confidence one needs at this level.

Yes, we missed some layups, of course they did, too...they also missed free throws with no one guarding them.  I truly believe the difference in this year's team and last is the guards.  Missing Vander is huge, missing a solid PG even bigger.  The thing for me is that Junior was a solid PG, but not great in my opinion.  He had moments, he could hit a big shot, make some really good plays, but was a bit up and down.  I just don't see it with Dwil....was absolutely my biggest concern coming into this year and with Vander leaving, only made it worse because you could slide Vander over.

We make the layups (Taylor I'm talking to you) and we make the FT's (Wilson, Otule) especially the front ends, and it's chicken dinner.

Their fans can say the same thing...nothing is ever in a vacuum.  They make their layups, their free throws, this game is over with 5 minutes to play.  I love that we came back, love that we don't quite (kudos to Buzz every year in that department), but it felt to me we were outclassed that entire game and the sad part, Nova looks like a team to me that might struggle to get into the second weekend of the NCAA tournament.  4th best team in the country?  Not a chance.

I don't care what their fans say. If their team wants to blow the game by missing bunnies and FT's that's fine with me.  I'm concerned when my team has a chance to win and blows it.

That's fine, but it just means you aren't watching the whole game.  It's the same mistake fans make about fouls called at the end of the game....fouls are called throughout the game....the other team misses bunnies, too....the other team has bad calls against them, too.

It would be sweet and nice to just say IF ONLY WE DID THIS we would have won....except the exact thing can almost always be said about the other team as well.

No, it means that having watched the whole game I have focused my comments on things my team needed to do to win.
