marquette is seriously overrated but they'll contend for a bye in this league

I'd say our 3 ranking would indicate a team contending for a bye.

they've been disappointing in the NCAA tournament the last 2 years, losing in the first round both times, as the better seed both times no less.

I can't argue this but it really has no bearing on conference rankings.  But hey, at least we made the tournament last year!  :P

Love it. Syracuse should probably just stay mute until they can beat Clemson in the NIT. The same Clemson that almost lost to Air Force.

Boeheim had no right to say 'Cuse should have been dancing. He should save that acting for Blue Chips 2.

Both times as the higher seed?

Sorry. One time as a 7 and one time as an 8 do not count as "higher seed." All higher seed means in those games is that we wear white for a game.

Every year it seems to be that the 5-12 games through the 8-9 games are largely a crapshoot.

Reading that, it sounds like they are still bitter that Melo didn't get poy and all those awards that they believe he should have gotten, they won the national championship, isn't that good enough?  Besides, I love how every team over looks Ooze, the man is a baller, nothing flashy, just good for 10+/8 every night, along with McNeal, James, Matthews show, I think we are contenders.  Also don't look past Cubes, Acker, Lazar, Fitz... our teams depth is much larger then most see.

Agreed.  this is finally the year (barring injuries) we should make some serious noise in March.

It's too bad we didn't beat them last year.  A win over Boehiem would have looked nice along with our wins over Coach K, Knght, Pitino, and Calhoun last year.

Can't imagine too any teams have done that in one season!

I think most of our guys have a chip on their shoulder, and that's good:  James' draft snub, McNeal's absence down the homestretch, Barro's perpetual journeyman status, etc.  Rarely in college hoops is a team able to come back and finish their unfinished business, but this one has that opportunity.
