Anybody know? Something to look into. I'm hoping an under.500 team can be accepted.

No doubt...but this team is an NIT team. No way are they going to turn down a major conference with an NBA arena and basketball as their major sport.

I think it's a very legit question.

OK Tamu, take a deep breathe. It was a joke, sorta. MArquette is dreadful this year, hard to watch.

I think it's a very legit question.

25 teams making the NCAA through conference championships alone (depending on year). 68-25 = 43. 43 + 32 NIT teams leaves the top 75 teams getting auto bids into those tournaments. They are not a top 75 team. As for the pro arena point, higher seeds get home games. Which means they'd need to be a top 59 team (43+16).

chapman

A CBI best of three championship series with UWM would be a big draw.

I am pretty sure you have to finish .500 to earn an NIT bid. This team is not that good.

MU won't be at the BC since the NCAA Tourney is thrre. Play at the Al.

It's hard to get into the NIT, since auto bids go to mid major who win there league but does not get the auto bid to the big dance.

madtownwarrior

Maybe we can make another banner with "It's hard to get into the NIT" - put it next to the "2013-2014 - No Bad Losses / No Good Wins" Banner...

that's a good one...

It's true. When about 8 to 10 bids are going to low majors. There are only 20 to 22 bids left. Sorry, if you don't like that. NIT change it's format about 5 years ago.

I'm sorry but I think it's sad that someone is giving up after we are only 5 games into a 18 game conference schedule

It's not giving up as much as it is being realistic.

For God sakes pass on the CBI if it comes to that (and it might). Not worth the bother.

If not the Al, it would be awesome to play a retro game back at the MECCA arena.

Xavier after several years in NCAA tournament went 17-14 last year and did not get a bid to any tournament. Right now I be happy with any tournament bid including CBI, but there is a very good possibility we do not get one. Remember the Bradley Center is an NCAA tournament site, so MU would not get a home game. Maybe an MU at UWM or UWGB might be attractive to a tournament committee. I am still hoping for a Big East tournament miracle but barring that I do not think we have any postseason.

They got a CBI bid, and declined it.

When was the last time you were there. The Cell is nice!

Tums Festival

If we make the NIT all the Scoopers complaining about the Fox contract should be happy since we'd be on ESPN again.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

If we do get the NIT or the CBI, we should absolutely take it. Postseason experience could be invaluable for our young guys.

But I reiterate, to talk about the CBI 5 games into the conference season is ridiculous

Saw Chucky Atkins and South Florida in the NIT under Deane. Still don't buy that the joint is nice, doe.
