One of the cooler things I've seen in a while. The entire arena doing it at half was awesome, then the student section did it during Ohio State free throw attempts, although the No! Chant might have been more appropriate. Somewhere Bryan Danielson is smiling.

Maybe our Student Section can get a Cena Sucks chant going.

I actually thought it was a pretty stupid chant. Yeah, it gets the whole arena going, but it's just silly. It's a three letter word, repeated over and over. Not particularly unique, creative, or relevant to the Spartans in any shape way or form. If anyone knows the history of the chant, why it started or when it's usually used, that may sway my opinion.

But if I was to walk to a MSU game as a complete bystander and a neutral party, I wouldn't really know what to think of it. MSU has a great student section, but that "yes" cheer is really lacking.

I thought it was the football team leading it, and took it to mean that it was a pregame thing they did. For example, similar to what Drew Brees does in a the huddle before games.

I loved it. Who cares if saying YES isn't Spartan-specific. It got the whole crowd rocking and they had fun with it. The louder the crowd, the better the home court advantage is. Do your thing, Sparty.

As an adopted Sparty (during football season only, of course), I can assure you there is a pretty funny back story to the chant.

I guess if your ability to think for yourself is limited to picking out what color shirt to wear, then it's probably good to exercise your brain on that one issue.

Most of us have plenty to think about already...so giving in to a preferred shirt color to help motivate the team isn't such a big sacrifice.

As for a team needing motivation based purely on the color of a shirt... get a clue, man. The color of your shirt has zero outcome on the game. ZERO.

If we're pointing fingers, then it's the alumni that are lacking. The stadium wasn't even full for tip-off against Ohio State. It ended up filling quite nicely, but to have empty seats at the lower bowl at tip-off is really bad.

EDIT: But color doesn't help as much as noise. Just stating an observation. Don't mean to start a war against the Alumni base. I like the pray and repent idea. We should all get holy water and sprinkle it when shouting "Repent".
