Derrick Wilson is the worst player in the history of Marquette basketball.

You can say false. But you would be wrong.

I could play point guard and we would be in the situation

Anthony Candelino.   Brandon Bell.   Niv Berkowitz.   Herb Harrison.   Roman Mueller.   Rod Grosse.   Mbao.

Nope Wilson is the worst pg I have ever seen at Marquette. Just terrible.

False.  Just the worst scholarship player this side of Mbao.

This post is the worst in Scoop history.

You can say false but you would be wrong.

Through his practice ethics and that fact he will be a senior, he will still be starting next year.  The discussion/issue will continue into 2015.

He is not the worst, but the timing was not good for the young fella.  He would be a nice back-up, but with no one else, Buzz feels he is the best right now.  Time will tell.

esotericmindguy

You obviously didn't watch the team in the late 90s, when I was fortunate enough to attend MU.

Wilson is not terrible, it's just amplified because no other guard or wing can score the ball. He played 27 minutes yesterday and didn't turn the ball over, it's not his fault that Duane got hurt, he's not meant to be a starting PG. He's a solid backup PG that should be getting 8-12 minutes per game.

He also doesn't create. When I was in Strategic Planning at PepsiCo we had a Planning Meeting at Vail. CEO Wayne Calloway asked us who had made a major-league bad decision in the previous year. A few guys raised their hands. Calloway rewarded them on the spot, not for their honesty, but the fact that they were taking risks. The Marquette PG needs to create opportunities for his team. Some here cite his low TO rate as a positive. Like Wayne Calloway, I see a leader who is risk averse.

I thought you couldn't get worse after your "worst MU team in history" post. But I was wrong. I award you negative points and may God have mercy on your soul.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I am trying to figure out why Haywards is intentionally trying to undermine his entire credibility over the course of a day.  Either that or he has an incredibly short and/or selective memory regarding MU basketball.

I would like you to meet Derrick, and try to find the courage to say that to his face.

I can tell you first hand that he is the kind of person we can be proud of as a fellow alum.

Yes, his play has not risen to the level of expectation...

You may want to consider modifying your original post and thread title to "NM".

Blackhat

I don't care if he's a Rhodes Scholar, he hurts the team currently.   I'd say it to his face....learn how to shoot jacka..

Sure you would.  Just like you said you would.

Lighten up friend.

Blackhat

Well maybe... he looks about 5'10" and unlike Farley I know which way the weight room is.

I hate this type of response.

The say it to his face? Are you implying im two faced? In person I would tell him he's awesome?

Or are you implying he would beat me up?

If so, that would just prove my point. A random fan tells him he sucks and he brings out the fists.

This thread is pathetic. These are 18-21 year old kids.

Well played.

This thread angers me. These are kids, who attend a university I love, and for the most part represent it with class. This season has been disappointing, but if you can't handle a loss without coming on an internet message board and anonymously talking sh!t about these kids, perhaps you should seek professional help, and in the meantime, stay off Scoop. We would all be better off.

And to answer the question, Derek is nowhere close to the worst in MU history. You are either guilty of hyperbole, have a very short memory or have only been an MU fan for a short while.

Have to agree...... What bothers me more is that in another thread someone mentioned red light, green light. Do they have the red light and can't shoot until he gives them the go ahead?
If we don't take perimeter shots until ball goes in  and/or 4 passes that is too predictable and why teams jump our passes and stack the paint.  Is that why we consistently dig ourselves a big hole to climb out of in the beginning of games?

Ding Ding Ding. Exactly what I was thinking. The way some people bash these kids makes you think if they really are fans
