Derrick Wilson: Helping or hurting Marquette?

The biggest story line at this season's media day was Derrick Wilson. Buzz Williams spoke at length about how important it would be for him to trust Wilson on a daily basis. His spot in the starting lineup was secure, as were his 25 minutes per game. But, as always, that wasn't going to be [...]<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=painttouches.com&blog=28348875&post=10127&subd=painttouches&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" />

Great analysis...fair and balanced.  Most startling stat, yet not surprising, given recollection of watching games is that Derrick has only assisted on 3 of Devante's buckets, out of his 49 assists.  That in and of itself explains why DG has looked like he's regressed as a player.  He's ultimately the victim of the above, and it has to be unbelievable frustrating.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

Thank you for the details, as depressing as they are. Obviously the weaknesses are known, and so far this year the "improvement" hoped for seems to be coming up short.  How soon before frustration becomes resignation?

The conclusion (so it seems to me), Derrick is a better player, yet a flawed PG, especially for MU's offense.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

This has to be all Devante's fault, because Buzz loves Derrick, and he would not put up with a PG that cannot feed the post. It is obvious that Devante has regressed, is a pouter, has an attitude problem,  cannot play defense and has pulled punk moves at the end of the game.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."
