So that pretty much rounds out 2015 barring a transfer/decommit, no?

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

How do you get to that conclusion? Including Harris, a Watson commitment would only bring us to 12 by my count.

Yep. Watson and Stone to go along with Noskowiak to round out 2015

jesmu84

Can anyone summarize verbals/commits so far? Are Watson and noskowiak in the same class?

Noskowiak is the only one...and yes.

The Equalizer

That would give us a 2015-16 roster that includes 4 PGs:

Juniors: Duane Wilson and John Dawson
Frosh: Nick Noskowiak and Glynn Watson

I think the mistake comes out of the scholarship table.

It shows 2 scholarships avaible and doesn't yet list Pierce.  If you go by the number, Watson and Pierce would use the listed 2 scholarships.

However, if you count names, only 10 are currently showing.

The table either needs to add Pierce and show two scholarships, or change the number available to 3.

nyg

I would imagine that by 2015, there will be additional openings.  Has happened every year.

Duane will likely end up being more of a combo guard. Otherwise, perhaps an Acker/Cubillan redux?

And there are worse things than having more than one ballhandler on the court at a time, especially if at least one of them is a shooter/scorer (i.e. DuWilson, Noskowiak).

This has been discussed here before.  The table assumes all scholarships will be used in the year preceding regardless if they are actually marked down in previous years as used or not.  IOW, even if Pierce had not committed, they would still have two available slots for 2015-16.

It is pretty much how they have always done it.  I find it confusing, but that is what they do.

This school has had a good program, and we have landed some guys before from St. Joe's: Tony Reeder and Will Gates come to mind. None recently , however.

Anybody know anything about this kid?

Scout has him as a 4 star PG.   Listed at 5'11, 160, but he is only a junior.

#48 in ESPN's Class of 2015 Top 60  (Noskowiak is #58, fwiw).

It is easier to have PG play shooting guard than it is for a shooting guard to play Point.    My only concern about this is he is about the same size as NN and I don't think Buzz wants to have little shooting guards.

Nick is 6'2...he could defintely play the 2 .......Glynn is 5'11

So the number of scholarships "available" in any given year should be equal to the number of graduating seniors/transfers/etc. from the previous year less the number of commits for the given year.  In which case, you would start with having three available for 2015-16 (D-Will, Juan and Mayo graduate in 2015)... Noskowiak and Glynn take two, which means you would have one left.

The scholarship table is missing Pierce, and I took that into account when I did the calculation of 2 available minus Glynn minus Pierce.  I shouldn't have subtracted Pierce.  We have one open scholly for 2015-16.

No.  We have two.  With Nick's commitment, assuming no other movement, we have 11 players right now.

Looks like Jerry went on a ramage, made 10 predictions today. Good to see Glynn is 4/4 MU, even if it is early. Two guys in the top 60 who can handle the ball would be welcome right now.

FWIW, Diamond Stone was 1/1 MU until a guy associated with UNC picked him to go there about 5 minutes ago.

Seniors: Taylor
Juniors: Burton, DuWil, Dawson, JJJ
Sophomores: Harris, Cohen, Hill, Shayok, Pierce
Freshmen: Nosko, Glynn

That's 12... unless you know something about Harris that you're not sharing.

Would love to have a quick point guard again.  Something we've missed over the past 4 season.  I like that Buzz is adding size, but having one really quick point guard on the roster, even if undersized, is something I like to see.

A guy who can get into the lane and distribute.  And, the ability to stay in front of the opposing point without using the body/hands under the new rules.

No, I wasn't counting Glynn since he hasn't committed yet.

It would be, shall we say, unusual if MU went the next two years without a single kid transferring, not making it to campus, etc.

So you're hoping Peyton Siva comes to MU   8-)
