MU alum Danny Pudi posted this on twitter just now:
QuoteYeeeeeeeha! This is a dream come true. 'Untucked' will premiere @sundancefest  http://bit.ly/1gmUBNy

Description from that page:

QuoteUntucked / U.S.A. (Director: Danny Pudi) — This documentary explores the iconic "untucked" jersey worn in 1977 when Marquette University won its first and only national college basketball championship. It was designed by one of Marquette's players, Bo Ellis, under the fearless leadership of Coach Al McGuire.

Love it. Hoping it makes it's way to a 30 for 30.

I always thought someone should explore via documentary one of the most tragic events in MU history. The 89 event. BH.

Still a lot if unanswered questions there.

What event are you talking about?

Whitey was mercilessly and unceremoniously shown the door, all while he played chopsticks on the piano. A true outrage that has been hidden from the rest of the world for too long.

I'm actually being serious.  What is he talking about?  The name change?  That wasn't in '89.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Damn....good one PRN, forgot about that one...memory lane.

I remember that fire well. There was a mysterious homeless "Kevin" that was blamed.

Yes, with a composite sketch, and plastered all over campus. The Bud House was the coolest Victorian house on campus...best location. Rugby players lived in it."Kevin" was a non MU student who crashed the party and was angry for being kicked out. But despite the manhunt the "search" ended the following summer. No prosecution. No "Kevin".  Did an MU student student confess and Milwaukee Police Department pass on prosecution?

Keep in mind this was 1989, Milwaukee Police Department's lowest point. Crack was rampant. The MU neighborhood being lurked by Dahmer. Dahmer's bloodied victims not being helped by police. An innocent MU Engineering student murdered outside his fraternity. MPD's focus though was on petty crimes; commissioning MU Campus Safety, going thru yellow lights, jaywalking, and  window washers, because they perceived that strategy was effective in NYC.

i would love to know why the search for the Bud House arsonist ended.

MU31

Those are bad memories as we lived across the street from the Bud house at that time.  The newspaper articles were interesting as I didn't remember much about the situation other than it could have been set by a guy that got kicked out of a party.

GGGG

Honestly, I feel bad because I completely forgot about it until my memory was kickstarted by KC.  I was living a block away at the time, and I remember walking by the place later on in the year and thinking "someone my age just died there."

I really wish Ghostbusters II and Karate Kid III never happened.

GBII? Really?

I just watched Ghostbusters I for the first time as an adult yesterday.  Great movie.  As a kid I remember the second one being really good.  I really want to watch it as an adult.  Maybe it is bad, but I remember it being awesome.  Now back to the future III and ninja turtles III, on the other hand...

I judge sequels based on the point in the respective movie when it jumps the shark... because every sequel does eventually.

II jumped the shark when Michael J Fox appeared as his own daughter.  At least III didn't jump the shark until Doc showed up with the kids at the end... so by my measure, III was a good movie.

I know... you're going to say that III jumped when ZZ Top appeared, but if you didn't know who ZZ Top was, then you'd never think those guys were out of place in that setting.

TMNT III jumped the shark when they typed "Ninja" after "Mutant" on the script's cover page.
