The sky hasn't fallen.  It will still be there tomorrow too!

We lost to a top 10 team on the road by 6 without a top minute guy.  We will be OK.

We've lost two games to top 10 opponents. Lost the other two to teams that ESPN is ranking in the top 30 per power rankings.

We may not be a automatic in now, but come March we will be ready to win. (I already know somebody is going to say it's too late, to that person I say shush)  We'll be in midseason form come midseason.

It was easily the toughest non-con schedule we've played in the past 5 years.

Sleep tight. Tomorrow is a new day.

Amen.

I'm sure, with the score as it is as well as how close MU came to tying or leading the game, we're all fed up.

But honestly, many of us knew that Wisconsin had better wins under their belts and playing at home was going to be beneficial for them.
The Badgers are not a bad team; MU is just not playing at or above their level yet.

Yeah, I agree with that. But wait..isn't that a coaching issue?

The one positive I can take out of yesterday is that we played very poorly. All game long, it felt like frustrating moment after frustrating moment. And yet we were still within a basket under 2 minutes. Jamil's three was big, but Kaminsky's answer was huge. He misses that, we might just have stole that one yesterday.

This team isn't a finished product. But if you went on eye test, Wisconsin looked like they were about 20 points better than us yesterday. That we played them as close as we did tells me there's still room for optimism.

Even if right now all I want to do is punch anyone wearing red.

Are you saying that Buzz's coaching was inexcusable?
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Still trying to figure out how we only lost by 6 on the road to a top-10 team when our starting backcourt amassed 3 points and 0 assists in a combined 65 minutes. Really, seriously ... almost unheard of. The basketball gods weren't about to let us win one like that, though.

The guards coming off of the bench scored 0, 82, so the starters were better.

Yikes.

3 points from the entire backcourt. I wonder how many times in modern Marquette history that has happened.

No the guy posted that the team is not playing very well. That, Sir is a coaching issue. That is why guys get paid 2.5 million Samolies a year.

I don't know if you have heard....college ball is a guards game.   ;D

Have to have good guards to be competitive.  I'm all for great bigs to win it all, but you have to start with guards.  The base of the pyramid as far as I'm concerned.  Buzz likes switchables....that's fine, but need quality guards, too.

We don't always agree, Chicos, but on this issue you and I agree.

It is impossible to be a highly successful team when the starting guards combine to play 56 minutes but average only a combined 11.6 points. Impossible!

If we are wrong about this, I would welcome folks to show us a Sweet 16 team in college basketball history in which the starting guards average fewer than 12 points combined. I mean, has any NCAA tournament team even been saddled by such lack of production?

Good point.  I think I'd rather be 5-4 with a balls-hard non-con than be like, say, Cincy, who has seven wins all at home against a bunch of low-major teams (and a mediocre NC State).

Agreed.
In our losses (minus OSU), there's been progress made.  And the fight in the team seems to be improving.  There was a good amount of give in that first loss and the New Hampshire game for that matter, but now they seem like they're getting their legs under them.
Here's hoping.
