Really don't feel good about losses like this one.  Hung around really well through the 5 minute mark of the second half--SDSU couldn't buy a bucket beyond a lucky 3 from Thames.  Refs gave SDSU a 4-point swing with the bad foul call and missed out of bounds call.

Burton was a huge spark and if Derrick can find some offensive consistency, we could have a good team.  I think we win this one if Davante is healthy.  A loss like this is just really hard to stomach, SDSU played ok but hardly earned it towards the end.

Most disappointing for me is how quiet Jamil was today.  Going 0-4 from 3pt with 3 TOs is not what we need from the guy that we expected to finally step up this year.

Not looking forward to this team being schooled by Wisconsin.   Maybe lucky to be .500 in BE.

Refs didn't help but we were outplayed anyway. This team is now 5-3 in non conference and still has to play @ Wisconsin which I don't think this team can win. I am not a big fan of this team so far this season and I don't think they are very good.

This team can be good, their last couple games tell me that much.  I take issue with how long this team took to 'find its identity' according to Buzz.  Isn't part of Bootcamp and their practices finding their identity?  They shouldn't be finding it partway through the year.

MU had five assists the whole game.

1 for 9 from three.

16 for 26 from FTs.

DWil have 0 points, 0 assists and 0 rebounds in second half

Thomas gave SDSU six easy points with bad passes.

Jwil, again didn't step up.  Only one good game for the senior.

Burton ain't shy.....Nice.

Three quality teams played, three losses.  Still early, so lets see who steps up.

Sweet, get off the bandwagon now. We don't need ya.

It's called pointing of facts bud, has nothing to do with cheering for a team.

We would have won if Dawson had played.

Terrible tournament.  Let's not go back to the Wooden Classic again.

Bahamas, Orlando or Maui.  Maybe Kansas City too.

I'll say we're over .500 for everything you've got. If you have more than me I'll borrow whatever it takes. What's your number?

I don't recall the last time Marquette lost 2 games this early in a season to teams we are clearly better than.

Last year.  Green Bay and Butler.

Can't bet against MU.  With zero offensive threat out of PG, I just don't see winning many games against quality opponents.

It doesn't sit well with me that SDSU needed the help of the refs to beat Creighton as well.  This tourney feels like a hoax for the (almost hometown) boys.  Did you see how SDSU crushed the Creighton players when they went inside at the end of the game.  Now this?  They are a good team, but they are not a Top 25 team, and we are not as of now either.

Obviously, many reasons MU lost this game, but big mo really left the building after Burton dribbled off his defenders leg.  Argument could be made that MU should have been mentally tougher but noticeable difference after that play.

Oh well, at least they didn't give up a 108yd TD return on a missed field goal!

Buzz needs to get his 5 best players on the floor and they need to get the majority if minutes, too many guys getting clock that are hurting team time and time again

I agree the college game is only 40 minutes and I think we play too many guys. Easier for players to catch a rhythm when they are on the court more.

DWil is incredibly overrated as a defender. He's marginal at best. He's getting better at running the point though. Jake self destructed in the last 6 minutes or so. Gardner was pretty much a non factor. Despite all of that Mu still had a chance to win if the calls went their way which they didn't. I still feel pretty positive about the team. They have a good chance to win Saturday.

It does when you say you're not a fan of the team. Which you said. And you said you were pointing out facts, so it's a fact that you're not a fan. So as I said, get off the bandwagon.

Last year.  Green Bay and Butler.

I think butler was better than asu and sdsu.  There is a lot of disrespect for San Diego state in this board right now, but I think they played harder than Marquette did throughout the game and that had as much to do with the outcome as anything.

I had more issues with the closing 5 than the starting 5.

Was hoping that DG would have an MJ-esque finals game while struggling with the flu.  It wasn't in the cards tonight.  No sense beating up this team that had poor FT and 3P%.  Some bad calls down the stretch but that will happen.  Interesting how the players/coach respond.  Buzz was still talking to officials about that play until the next time-out.  That would be my only criticism.  As huge as that call was, like to see Buzz focus on game management.  Restock, reload and move on to the next one.

We may have a group of good players who are great complimentary pieces with no leader.  They don't seem confident or even well organized.  Loved the initiative shown by Burton who did not seem afraid to take a leadership role.
