What is our record right now if Vander never had left? Don't mean to be beating a dead horse over the Vander situation but I'm curious as to what people think.

4th and State

Tough to say.  Would he be playing a lot of minutes at PG or would Derrick still be getting the majority of those minutes?  We looked so bad against Ohio St I think that would probably still be an L but a W against ASU.

GoldenWarrior11

What would our record have been if Trevor Mbakwe had stayed?  Scott Christopherson?  Jeronne Maymon?  What if Tyshawn Taylor kept his commitment to us?

Wondering about Vander and his impact on a hypothetical game/team/season is something the team is spending no time thinking about.  He's gone.  Move on.

Never seen a group of such well intentioned folks spend so much time and energy on the "what ifs."

What if Lee had won at Gettysburg? What if Hitler had died of a childhood disease? What if Gore had won?

"What if" threads should be banned, or put into a special section of MU Scoop. Maybe the section could be called "reality check."

Or you could just not read/comment on them.

What if Utica Bus Barn would simply not pay attention to what if threads?

Here's one who hates other people's happiness. It's all about them. Hey, if you don't like, don't join in.

Would Scott Monarch still be here if Vander's last name actually WAS Orange?

Probably 4-1. I don't think Vander changes the OSU game.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

I will gladly play this what if game. If vander was still here we might have one loss. Derrick Wilson would still get majority of pg minutes but blue is explosive enough to hide his offensive deficiencies. The ball moves better. D gardner gets the ball as a paint touch more often and easier. J Wilson is more effective and Todd mayo would be the guy we want to see playing more. I believe we are better not because he plays traditional pg but because the offense flows through him in the half court. He makes things happen. Also we would be faster in transition. I would have loved to see the 5-10 minutes with a blue and mayo backcourt.

So all that improvement and we still don't beat a OSU team we were tied with at halftime?

3,533,200 and 1

That's a little extreme.  I was thinking 3,533,195 and 6

But those six loses would be only to teams coached by Ditka.
