Plenty of opportunities to win this game, I'm disappointed. While I am pleased with the progress on offense I am not pleased with the overall result. Derrick played well but he better than anyone should know he shouldn't have been the one to take that shot. He drove right into the big guy for an easy block.

He did. Made some big mistakes too, but he needs to be out there.

Not before Jake.

Think jujuan is more effective at the 3. He will probably be taking a lot of Juan's minutes.

We may be better without Mayo.  Just saying.

Buzz had a time out right before that...one can only guess but it looked like that was the plan:  to drive it down and try to draw a foul.  The big guy ended that in a hurry by rotating over.  I saw no trailers for a trey...every one else from  MU ran to the rim, if I saw it correctly.

Guessing play was designed to bring Jake up the middle for the kick out 3, but he was too slow getting there and left De Wilson hanging.  All in all, great game and happy we were in it in the end.  GO MU!

I agree.  It looked like an OL blocking for a RB.  Too bad their biggest DL slipped a blocker and swatted our game winner.  No problem with was Derrick did... no other option available.

Ridiculous...

Plus normally Ox or Otule screen out the big and that didn't happen.

We lost to a good team tonight on the road.  No shame in that.  ASU will be playing in March.  Tonight was a pretty good test (pre-Big East slate) against solid competition.

STILL not worried.

Exactly, Big Chris wasn't sealing him all game. That was the Vander, Jimmy play all over again.   If Todd was playing, that would have been his shot.

Great college game.  Both teams left it on the floor.

On the one hand, asu is pretty good but I have no doubt that we win if that game is not at their place.  I think we are are a better team and they were worn down at the end.

On the other hand, we need to win games when jake hits like that as I don't know that will be a common occurrence.

Agreed. A lot of positives in the game tonight, especially minus Mayo. This will be a good team once we continue to gel. ASU is a solid team, and will be dancing this year.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Absolutely true, but I would have liked to see more out of our last two possessions.

I'm absolutely with you on this. I saw more positives than negatives from tonight's game.

How so? I thought we looked good tonight with JJJ getting significant tick and not throwing up circus shots.

ASU also shot 45% from 3.  Miracle we were even in this game at the end.  Feeling much better after this game.

Would be better if we could beat a team that will be playing March, that remains to be seen...

That was a great block.

As opposed to the one before, that was a blatant goaltend in real-time.
