Who's gonna check Kaminsky? Let's not be silly, I'd welcome Koenig with open arms.

They essentially played Caucasian Grambling. Horrid defense.

That could very well be. But, a common theme has been to belittle the talents of players who aren't wearin' blue and gold. Anyone with minimal basketball knowledge should ready perceive players like Koenig, Tokoto, Looney, Butch, etc., etc. have obvious skill levels that would elevate this program.

PC crowd would auto-correct to traditional Grambling. Yet, Kaminsky went 6 for 6 from beyond the arc. Not certain anyone local could do the same here in a CYO game.

Everyone was very quick to point out that the performances against Grambling should be dismissed because of the competition. North Dakota is marginally better than they were.

Just saying.

Don't forget Milwaukee native Troy Huff who lit up the Badgers tonight for 37 points on 15-21 shooting, 4-5 from three.

No one belittled Looney...the only poster I remember belittling Dekker was Dimes...and if anything, people belittled Butch because of what his coach did to him.

I think it is obvious to 95%+ of Scoopers that those players would fit great at MU.

Not sure Koenig fits in that class considering Duane.

I am proud to say that my high school team knocked Huff out of the WIAA Playoffs in a 3OT game. The kid can flat out play.

My son went to BA when Huff was there. I was surprised he didn't get more looks from better D1 schools. He was a 6' 5" point guard with a great hops and a good handle, but rail thin. Probably the result of playing in D4.

He red shirted a top flight center.  Then Butch didn't make the NBA.

Butch didn't leave Wisconsin a whole lot better than he was when he got there. Was that something that "his coach did to him?" We'll never know. What we do know is that Bo takes average players and makes them good and takes great players and makes them good.

Turned him from a traditional center to one that floats on the perimeter.

I didn't mean for that to sound as negative as it did.  I should have said "how the coach had him play."

Butch chose to redshirt himself.  And he did make the NBA.

Understood, but he earned a paycheck and was officially on a NBA roster...he made the NBA.

As for Butch, that was his decision to redshirt and a smart move it was, for him and the program.  He has said it a number of times that he made the decision in counsel with his family and based on what Mike Wilkinson had done.

Bo's getting out-coached in this one.  ORU runs the same play everytime down and Bo hasn't done anything to adjust.

Big time. It was a good game for awhile but ORU just made too many mistakes at the end to get over the hump

Was listening to the broadcast of Madison vs. SLU last night, and they were going on and on about how incredible  it is that the were 7-0 against the schedule they've played. I'm not going to claim they aren't off to a great start, but is it really all that impressive?

The beat an average SJU team on a neutral court, short handed Florida at home, a close win at UWGB, and SLU in Cancun, in addition to the usual home buy games. Again, not knocking what they've done, but Florida is the only one I might not have picked them to win, so how impressed should we be?

Their schedule has a lack of top opponents, but is pretty full of potential trip up games.  Is it "impressive" that they are 7-0 so far?  Perhaps, but if they do run the table non-conference that would undoubtedly be impressive.

I posted the following in another forum:

Average final 2012-13 Kenpom ranking of MU's OOC opponents: 154.23
Average final 2012-13 Kenpom ranking of UW's OOC opponents: 136.92

(For tournaments, I took the highest rated team possible for both teams.)

So UW's OOC schedule by this measure is more impressive that MU's.

However to be fair, MU has one top 10 opponent from last year (OSU), but two to four potentially additional top 20. (WI and NM for sure, Mia and Creighton possibly)
UW has one top 10 (Fla), and one other top 20. (SLU)

But after that, Marquette's highest rated opponents are ASU (68) and Southern (165)...the rest are 200+
After that, UW has Marquette (24), Virginia (40), St. Johns (107), Eastern Kentucky (117), Green Bay (123), WVU (125), Oral Roberts (145)...the rest are 200+

So Marquette's is potentially much tougher at the top end, but really soft at the bottom. UW's is tougher throughout.
