We gotta have a gold one in there...we just gotta.  They're nice, but I think the "Marquette" on the front should have been more retro if they were gonna go with the checkered trim.

I like that they left the "AL" on there. I hope that never goes away.

As far as the checkered trim... eeehhh... doesn't really do anything for me. I know some people will go nuts for the whole retro thing... but I'm just not into checkered trim.

Overall, pretty cool though.

Also, they look like they might be more of a fitted tank top similar to others that Nike is now producing. (obviously hard to tell from a photo). But, they look fitted when you look at the arm holes.

I'm no fashion designer but I agree, the "Marquette" needs to be in a retro script.  It just kinds of clashes with the checkering

These are just the alternate jerseys, right?

I wouldn't even mind if they were the regular jerseys.

I love the Converse brand so prominently displayed.  It makes our unis unique and further hammers home our connection to Wade.  Anything to play this up is a good thing.

Just imagine McNeal stuffing another Duke burger boy to the verge of tears in that powder blue jersey...

I hope those will look better in action than the photos. I am a huge fan of the old jerseys, but I'm not sure about those. From the pictures, the white looks better than the blue -- and I'm a big light blue backer! I'm going to have to see them in person.

Agreed. I have a feeling that ESPN.com's "UniWatch" is going to have a field day with these..............................

I'm partial to the shooting shirt:

When do the Marquette karate outfits become available?

A reliable source told me they're going to auction the one Crean wore at MM.

I wonder if they'll have throwback karate outfits thirty years from now?

Although I'm not sure how fast the trends in karate outfits change, there might not be a need for throwbacks...

I was hoping to see the jersey from Luke Winn's blog interview with McNeal. I guess I don't understand these jerseys. If you're going to go retro, go the entire way with the lettering. This is too mis-matched together. Although I wasn't a fan of when we changed the jerseys a couple of years ago. I loved the lettering on the jerseys back in the late 90's/early 00's.

To answer your question, I have a friend who works at the Spirit Shop and another who works in the b-ball office and, yes, there is also a navy blue jersey as well as a gold jersey...so there are four jerseys altogether this season. I, too, agree that the "Marquette" should've been retro (or at least in the same font as last year's jersey).

The front of the jersey is a silky material similar to the form fit Nike jerseys, however, it doesn't form fit.  The back of the jersey is more of the standard basketball jersey material with the tiny air holes.  The shorts are the same way.

As for the shirt, despite it being Converse it actually still says NIKE Fit at the bottom.  Being owned my NIKE I'm sure alot of the stuff will be very similar to NIKE products.  It is thicker than under armour and doesnt form like it.  If anyone has felt the therma base material Majestic uses on it's Major League Baseball items it is similar to that.

Oh I also forgot to add that the Spirit Shop is also selling navy-blue Dominic James jersey t-shirts and white Ousmane Barro jersey t-shirts.  Both in the new style.

I have to assume they want to get as much life as possible out of these jerseys and wernt sure if Dominic would return (this year or next) so Wes and Jerel got the nod for the legit jerseys.  Perhaps when the Gold and Navy Blue go on sale one will be Dominic.

Who do you think would get the other?  Ousmane will be gone next year so I'd think someone realitively new like David?  Lazar?

I tried to photoshop really quick what a gold jersey may look like.  It's a little sloppy but not bad for 5 minutes.

So are these uniforms going to be like the ones Syracuse / OSU / UNC et al. wore last year during the conference tourny's? What does Nike call them? System of Dress- something like that?

I don't know about that, but OSU was a Team LeBron last season.

In fact, here's a pic of that kit (notice the "LJ23" logos):
