Who would be on that Top 10 list for basketball?

Mbakwe?
Odartey?
Karon Bradley?

We've been pretty fortunate on the receiving end, no?

Maymon has been very good, as he would have been had he stayed

Does Newbill count?

Maymon's developed into a solid player, when healthy.
Alton Mason was good at Arizona State.
Shannon Smith had a nice career at UWM and almost played in the league.
DeMarcus Minor had a good two years at Baylor.

MuMark

Christopherson had a nice career at ISU.

ps. Don't think you can count Newbill...he never attended MU. If you count him you would have to count Ty Taylor too.......

🏀

Ron Howard's earning a NBDL paycheck.

In recent memory I'd have to say Mbakwe.  One of the top rebounders around

ChicosBailBonds

Mbakwe could be a NBA player, so that's one.

Christopherson was on a all Big 12 team twice

Maymon

Blankson

Shannon Smith

What did Ellenson do at UW-madison?

Brandon Bell?  Charles Brakes?  Jeff Zavada?  Keith Stewart?  Gerald Posey?

As soon as I saw who had the last post, I knew the punchline.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

MuMark

Krunti Hester?  ;)

Gerald Posey

Yeah I'd have to say Trevor

TJ

I'd say Christopherson.  He was going nowhere fast on the MU roster, once he transferred he had a very nice career at Iowa State.

All of the rest of the answers would have been about as good at MU as they were elsewhere; Christopherson improved his situation by transferring IMO.

TAMU, Knower of Ball

Brett Roseboro

I agree that DJ Newbill doesn't count, but dang it would be nice to have him on our team this year.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

I'm pretty sure that Brandon Bell self destructed, and both Charles Brakes and Keith Stewart had little success elsewhere.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

If we are going the Newbill approach then Tyshawn Taylor tops the list.

Retire Terry Rand's jersey!

Wasn't there another Mason who transferred on Crean after having a nice freshman year?  From the Chicago area, IIRC.

Did Krunti Hester even enroll?  Or did he not come when Deane got canned?

I like a kid name Ronald ...whatshisname played at Valparasio and got an invite from an NBA team...recently after all these years.

Oh yeah, Ron Howard? Is that his name? I have watched him bounce around the D-League for years now. Works hard and plays both ends.

I like his game. Good young man too. I met him briefly on campus. 6'5 and can play...
