Anyone buy tickets yet to the game in Vegas? I'm thinking about going but wanted to see if there is a section where MU fans will be sitting and try to buy there.

drbeauch

My son and I bought tickets - they have dedicated sections for each team - when you purchase on-line through Ticketmaster, they will ask you to select the section you want to sit in.

But I like to throw handfuls...

It looks like Marquette's designated sections are 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 which lines up across from one of the benches. I'm also guessing that when you purchase tickets, you get entry to both games. Is that correct?

If you're looking for some great (seedy but inexpensive and wonderfully located) hotel ideas, let me know.

I stayed at the Motel 6 right across the street from MGM Grand once. It was quite nice, but I still don't understand why they rented rooms by the hour. I guess gamblers like naps?

Yes! There is also a HoJo. Super inexpensive (can get for under $30/night) and fine if you're just trying to sleep a bit. Coco's for breakfast is great!!... and right across the street from the MGM. Easy to get to off Tropicana as well.

Some rooms do appear to have been recent crime sites (murder), but there's a good sized bolt on the doors.

Any word if the school is going to offer some travel packages for this game like they arranged for the Final Four?

Man, you stayed in a place that rent rooms by the hour? Lucky you didn't bring your black light. I hope you showered right before you left and tip-toed to check-out!!!!   ;D

wardle2wade

I'm going to the game as well.

Also, those looking for hotels, Vegas in December is known for being very cheap.  Even on weekends, rates at some of the decent strip hotels get down quite low.  The very nice places are very reasonable compared to what they normally are on a weekend.

I'm going with a group of alums and we're staying at the MGM which is pretty cheap if you book it on trivago.com. The problem for me was flights out of Chicago were insanely expensive, but there is no way I'm missing this game.
Bring back FFP!!!

If you don't stay out all night you're a *****. No hotel needed, baby. Let's rock.

Southwest out of MDW is your cheapest option for Chicago to LV.

Yes you get entry to both games:

MU vs. NM @ 6:00pm
OK St. vs. Colorado @ 8:30pm

I went down to the MGM Grand Garden box office and got tickets as soon as they became available.  I attached the center of the ticket stub.

That's what I booked. Flying out Friday afternoon around 4:45 and then leaving Vegas around 7 on Sunday. I figure sitting in a sports book all day Sunday betting on NFL games will more than make up for all the cash I so easily spend the 2 days before.

I had this plan once, and it was the worst day of my life, never stop drinking.

I don't get why Colorado was invited to play in this game, much less why they got the later game.  Doesn't Coaches against Cancer know that Colorado is a pathetic program that Marquette should be embarrassed to lose a recruit to?  MUHoopsFan2 needs to get this message out to them pronto!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

So I sense some sarcasm here, but MU actually has the better game time here. It's 6:00 PT, which is 8:00/9:00 CT/ET (Primetime). Most in the midwest and on the east coast would miss the 8:30 PT tip.

Ahhhh....thanks for the insight.  Good to know that MU got the prime time game.
