I wish we had some to way to be competitive in this: capitalonecup.com

If bball, men's and women's soccer and volleyball all finish top 10 in the country, how would we not be competitive?

because of the point distribution. If they all finished #5, they would have 36 points. Barely enough to crack the top 25

Plus they have separate standings for the men's and women's sports. The website stinks, they only have the top 25 standings for the previous years, or at least I can't find any other standings on the site.

You shouldnt feel bad about losing to the womens soccer team. They are rolling with a 6-0 win today

Clinched the Big East regular season title!
Have some patience, FFS.

Goose

The women's soccer team is a lot of fun to watch. Play at very fast pace and highly skilled. They should have long run in the NCAA.

Marquette has a Men's club volleyball team, which won a national title in 2005. Not many schools have a varsity program so you get a lot of really good players in the club level.

The Women's club team has won 2 national titles since then. Very good volleyball at MU at all levels.

So Marquette has both women's varsity and women's club volleyball?

(Not being sarcastic, I really really don't know).
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Yes. They have club levels for a lot of varsity sports...men's and women's soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, etc.

Is there still a club football team?  Not hatin', just curious.

Surely a sign that the end of football as we know it is upon us.

Brewtown Andy

Men's soccer beat Seton Hall last night.

Also: Georgetown lost, so Marquette can take the regular season title with a win over DePaul on Friday afternoon.

Volleyball has a 2 game lead in the Big East standings after a 2-0 weekend.

Superbar

This is not a superbar topic. Believe it or not MU has other sports teams that are important as well. Congrats to womens soccer for just rolling through the Big East this year with a 9-0-0 record.

Agreed it's important. But, technically, it is superbar material.

"Hangin' at the Al - Forum / Message board for all things related Marquette Basketball - recruiting, coaching, game strategy, etc. "

"The Superbar - What happens at the Superbar, stays at the Superbar. This is the place to talk about anything non-bball related, like jobs, technology, food & drink on campus, naked beer slide strategy, recent events, etc.

Fun fact: It's their fifth consecutive Big East title. Kind of a big deal, eh?
