Is Buzz & his staff showing interest in Richard Peters?

Peters is a 6'10, 275 pound Sophomore center at Tallahasse C.C. who's a Toronto Native and it appears that he was a one time MU target coming out of high school.  According to the second link in the list below, Peter's has a friendship with Jamie McNeilly.

Good catch.  I remember the name, although I don't know how serious MU's offer was...especially since he eventually chose WSU.  Juco transfer issues could be a problem.

Looking at his offer list coming out of high school, I'm not sure him choosing WSU is a sign that he was not high major prospect and that his offer was a conditional offer.  He had offers from Indiana, Mizzou, Memphis, Oregon, WVU, etc.  Usually when you see a kid who has offers from mid majors they might have 1 high major offering them as a play B, C, or D.  It seems like this kid might have had some legitimate interest from multiple high majors.  (I truly don't know though)

It wouldn't surprise me at all if this was a case of many interested schools backing off not because of talent, but because his grade problems eventually became evident.  Then WSU decided to take a flyer which didn't work out.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Found this mention which explains how he is flying under the radar.  Rated at the #44 Juco prospect on Next Up Recruits top 50 Juco rankings.  He missed all of last year with an injury, so has yet to play college ball and is classified as a freshman.  If he still made progress in school while sitting out last year and the academics are in line he'd be able to transfer with three years of eligibility.

Maybe Buzz will do that sneaky thing he did with DJO where he got him to commit before other schools even knew he was coming out.

How could you not, we had at least 2 threads (that of course had juvenile references) about him...

He's a sophomore right now, so it's not a secret that he can transfer to a D1 school. Also: sounds like he wasn't D1 eligible like DJO was.

Correct, but he will still have to graduate with his associate's degree to qualify academically.

Of course, that's true of all Jucos who do not qualify out of HS.

How firm is Richard Peter's interest in filling Marquette's gaping hole in the middle? It shouldn't be so hard to attract a big man.

Well done, well done

Dr. Blackheart

Between them, Peters and Johnson will be a handful.

Pick one of the following:  1. They aren't nearly as big as they are reputed to be.   2.  They just keep getting bigger.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I heard the cheerleaders are concerned if we have both Peters and Johnson playing around the hole. Evidently they would be more than a mouthful to cheer for.

Back door moves are a big part of the Princeton offense.  Wait, are you saying that Princeton men are....

They can play the back door game but with their length they prefer to take it straight to the hole and jam it home.

Wonder if they have been introduced to MU's beat writer yet?
