Wade for President

In listenting to Ackerman's presser in NYC right now, it's my first time hearing her speak publicly.  I know she comes to the conference with a wealth of experience, and fwiw, my impressions thus far have been very positive.

Rumored St. Louis and Dayton will not be added at this time - No expansion for next year.  Straight from the horses mouth.

Lots of discussion about the home-home benefit to the 10 team league.  I'd guess any expansion is at least a few years off unless some dynamic changes.

Holding off makes a lot of sense.  Aside from home and home, we can wait to see if some of the programs that have been talked about on this board are able to mature a little and grow into legit BE programs.

I'm happy to hear that the Big East is waiting on expansion.  I'd speculate that there are still some big chips to fall regarding the big football conferences and there might be pieces left from those realignments that make greater sense than adding a Dayton or SLU.

If you are on the outside looking in at the eventual football powerhouses, the financial benefit of having football for the have nots becomes a much different thing.

Yeah--like Seton Hall.

1) SH's recruiting has picked up sop there is hope
2) We need someone to be bad
3) SH, bad, still has a better brand nationally than Dayton and SLU etc.

Yeah--like Seton Hall.

Hey, they've got 2014's number four recruiting class at this point. I'm pretty happy with their progress

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

GGGG

The Big East can afford to wait.  The most lucrative non-football conference doesn't have to rush into anything.  It can grab the likes of VCU, SLU or UD whenever it wants.

I agree with other posters, in that there's no reason to rush into further expansion without even playing one game in the "new" league.  Adding Creighton and their consistently Top 10 attendance average, and the iconic Hinkle Fieldhouse is a great start.

I will admit that having a 10 team league is a fresh change from what we came from.  Given all that has happened with the changing landscape of college sports, the one unique thing about our league is that you can get the genuine sense that everyone is pulling for everyone.

Other notes from today:

*Doug McDermoot says Big East was a factor in his return: "I just needed a change" - You're welcome Creighton fans.

*Friars head coach Ed Cooley, has dropped 80 lbs (wants to lose 110).

Trust me, someone will be offended that you called the broad a horse.

Would love to see VCU added to the Big East but I'm not sure who else would be added for the 12th team. Maybe Wichita St.?
