Willie....do you want to know the truth?

Brew mentioned it above.  After Lammers visited, Buzz did not go visit him in-home the next week.  But he visited, or will visit, with everyone else who is either committed or who we are zeroing in on.  Why do you think that is?
Willie can think only negative thoughts.  Thanks mods for the ignore button.

Here is something to make Willie happy.....just so he knows Buzz/staff is not only looking at switchables and guards

Buzz is still allowed in Pennsylvania?!

Looks like a project, but he's 7 feet tall, so there's that.

If Blammers had decided to join the MU family, we'd have embraced him.

He went elsewhere, so we move on to the next (whomever that might be).

That's college basketball.

Yeah, I know, the truth hurts. Unlike drinking the Kool Aid.

WTF?! seriously, is there anyone on this board who doesn't want a stud big?! do you really believe that?? what 'kool-aid' is there to drink? no one wants only 6'5" guys. no one wants only guards or switchables. and it's pretty obvious buzz/this coaching staff wants a big as well. do you think the whole world is against your idea of getting a stud post player? jeez!

tower912

Just like Crean before him, Buzz is recruiting bigs.    Like Crean before him, he is having difficulty getting his first choices to say yes.    But a year from now, assuming no transfers, there will already be two 6'9 players and two 6'7 players.   As well as a plethora of big guards.  A big would be welcome, but it isn't like returning to 09-10.

I think MU gets one because of one thing, potential playing time, JC kid, transfer, anything is possible.  If Tory Miller does not see the opportunity or Jabari Craig then I am missing
something.  Kids want to start.

Glad to hear you feel that way. If you read some of the posts, every time we lose out on a big, there are comments that we did not really want the guy, he really is not a switchable and other excuses--and those people know who they are. And if anybody offers any concerns/comments/criticisms about that, that person is crucified. So, yeah, there is plenty of Kool Aid slurping that goes on. Do not register any concerns/criticism or you are drawn and quartered. Such tolerance.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

We R Final Four

When we lose out on a big, no one has ever suggested that the reason was because he was 'not a switchable.'   But, whatever feeds the agenda.

Mostly to bring kids in for a few weeks or sometimes not at all.....cuz they didn't complete their application....or something, sort of like that story.

For those who may still be confused;

  1) Roseboro,
  2) Newbill.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Next thing you know schools will start implementing "new, unpublished standards" for summer school and boot kids in August if their grades "aren't good enough" for a scholarship that isn't available.

willie, the Lammers situation is actually the best case you will ever find of Marquette choosing not to pursue a recruit. Let's break down the timeline:

    • August 31: Lammers visits Marquette
    • September 9: In-home visits begin. Buzz visits with Cassell, Cohen, Stone, and Tory Miller among others.
    • September 18: Lammers trims list to MU, Miami, and GT, showing Lammers is obviously still interested in Marquette.
    • September 19: Marquette has still not visited Lammers. Buzz has been to Florida (Cassell), Georgia (Hill), Canada (Shayok), and Missouri (Miller).
    • September 25: Lammers commits to Georgia Tech.
If Marquette was still interested in Lammers after the visit, wouldn't Buzz have visited? He was all over the country. And Lammers still had interest, since he cut his list and kept us on it. I won't pretend to know what happened or why MU lost interest, but if this isn't a clear-cut case of a school losing interest, I don't know what is. That said, we need to land Craig, Miller, or at least one of the other bigs we're in on. Letting Lammers get away could bite us.
